    Idiots on lift trucks

I run a crew of loaders and we run our lift trucks at full throttle most of the time. Every now and then, someone will come out thinking it's easy. They find out there's a difference between loafing around on the production line and full blast loading. This clip has so many safety violations, the operator would be lucky to keep his job.

Then again, that dinky little lift wouldn't last the way we run them.

I wonder how he got the load up that high, and out that far in the first place, without it tipping over.

I could talk about leverage and the cosine of the angle but he was mostly just lucky. I'll bet the local OSHA inspector had a cow when (if) he saw the video. One thing could have made it worse. He had the boom chained to his back guard. If he hadn't, about the time it was at the point of no return the boom would have slid off his forks.
