Michael Corleone: Where does it say that you can’t kill a cop?
Tom Hagen: Come on, Mikey…
Michael Corleone: Tom, wait a minute. I’m talking about a cop that’s mixed up in drugs. I’m talking about a dishonest cop – a crooked cop who got mixed up in the rackets and got what was coming to him. That’s a terrific story. And we have newspaper people on the payroll, don’t we, Tom?
[Tom nods]
Michael Corleone: And they might like a story like that.
Tom Hagen: They might, they just might.
Michael Corleone: [to Sonny] It’s not personal, Sonny. It’s strictly business.
Following the killing of Texas District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia McLelland, in their home, we speak to Linda Geffin, the senior assistant prosecutor for the Harris County Attorney’s office in Texas, who herself survived a brutal attack by an unknown intruder probably connected to organized crime at her home last year
The killing if the DA is, to me, remarkable mainly because it is such an isolated incident. Seeing the way prosecutors abuse the powers of their offices, it’s amazing that more of them aren’t targeted by their victims.
I recently watched the film “West of Memphis”. The procecutors in that case perjured themselves, hid exculpatory evidence, suborned perjury of three witnesses and willfully leaked lies and obfuscations to the press, and the DA defied the state supreme court after their ruling that the victims of the prosecutorial misconduct were to have a new trial.
I’m just surprised that DAs and ADAs aren’t assaulted or killed every day.

I cam across the Ram’s human brother the other night. On an interstate… this guy is sitting in the left lane not passing. Clear ahead of him. I hang back, right turn signal, nothing, flash fogs, nothing, flash high beams, nothing. Fine. I struggle to move two lanes to the right and start passing. This guy accelerates. He then moves right…. I move right again and pass him. Then I move left and am stuck behind traffic. Now in the left lane dufus is so close to me his hood is not visible…. he then moves over one lane to the right, comes along side me and starts forcing his way into the space I am occupying.
I turn my camera to the side so he is looking right at it. He then assumes his original speed and falls back.
Sadly all the key parts of this blocked by trucks, happen outside of the view of the camera, etc and so forth so its too hard to follow. I may try to clean it up.
And yes Clover, this time I did curse and tell this guy he was number one. When someone behaves like this they deserve it. Forcing me out of my lane on to the shoulder, accelerating to block passing, and so on is more than deserving.
