An ongoing investigation in northern New Jersey community involving a Clifton officer and a dog.
Although all the facts are not publicly known, some of the people commenting have some very good questions.
Why was the cop going to this persons house?
Did the officer have a warrant?
If there was no warrant:
When the officer entered the persons property and saw the dog approaching him he should have left the property.
The dog was doing his job – protecting the property. The officer was trespassing and had no right to shoot the dog because he felt threatened.
It is unclear whether the dog survived. The officer was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated.
