This isn’t good.
With only about a week left in the month, we are still not only about halfway to meeting expenses for the month. See the pie chart.
This month has been terrible. Which is surprising, because traffic is up. More people are coming to EPautos than last month but we are having a time getting people to support the site.
Have I done something? I get paranoid. It’s been that kind of year. Many of you know that story.
If you’re upset about something, please tell me and I will try my best to get it fixed.
But things are bad. As in serious. There is no way I can keep doing this if where things are right now becomes the way things are going to be. I can’t publish this thing (or write) for free. I wish I could.
But I can’t.
So if you value this site, please help support it.
Update! I can order new magnets! I will do so today! We may yet make it out of the hole!
PS: I am working on an eBook that will be given out free to registered users; give me a couple of weeks… it’s in the hopper.
Thanks in advance…
Eric

PS: EPautos magnets are “on hold” until I can afford to order another batch. It’s something likes $150 to get 300 of them. As soon as I can, I will.
Trump kills DOT rule:
—The Department of Transportation (DOT) will not require car manufacturers to install automatic emergency brakes.
The Transportation Department’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) received a petition last year to require “forward crash warning, crash imminent braking, and dynamic brake support” in new cars. But the agency said Tuesday those rules are not necessary, because “more than 99 percent of light motor vehicle” already include these braking technologies.
“First, NHTSA has expanded its New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) so that the NCAP information for a vehicle notes whether the vehicle is equipped with one or more of these technologies,” the agency said. “Second, it has sought public comment on its plans to revise NCAP so that the presence and level of performance of these technologies affects the overall rating of light motor vehicles.”
The decision goes into effect immediately.

You gotta figure out a better business model. I love this site, and I would be extremely disappointed if I couldn’t read you anymore, but I’m broke too. Wife has cancer, house is falling apart, hot water tank just blew up and did 5k damage to my floors and walls, on and on. You can’t spend the rest of your career begging for money. Good lord Eric, I sincerely wish I could help, but I’m barely hanging on myself here. I feel like a scumbag because I enjoy your site without paying for it, but shit, I just can’t right now. I don’t have an answer, but there’s gotta be a better way to do this and make a living. You are an amazingly talented writer, your ideas should resonate with a good part of America (after all, 50 million people voted for Trump), and any human being with a lick of sense ought to be able to recognize the wisdom of your words. There’s gotta be a better way to get the message out and not have to beg for money every month.
People came through!
We are ok again.
It’s just necessary sometimes to rattle the cup, I guess.
I’d much rather do that, by the way, than whore myself out. It’s not even principle, entirely. I’m just getting too old to do loathsome things and not eat a bullet out of self-loathing afterward.
I feel the same way, actually feel guilty for reading and participating when I can’t send anything in. Funds are extremely tight, seems I’m always juggling tiny amounts of money to stay afloat – and that’s without any loans outstanding or debt of any kind, it’s not from living beyond my means. I would love to be able to contribute more financially to support Eric and this site but as things stand I can only manage a few bucks in here and there on a very occasional basis.
Hey Folks,
Let’s send a few shekels Eric’s way. This site provides a much needed point of view that is unique in my experience. But the reality is, EPAutos could disappear without a trace and then where would we go for content like this? I’m in. BTW, Eric, any info on when/if Elio will be delivering?
Agreed. I am a regular contributor and sent a few extra. Keep it going!
Thanks, Swamp!
I woke up this morning to a nice surprise… for once!
