Bradley Smith, a deputy with the Ouachita Parish Sheriffs Offices, was arrested and charged with felony third degree rape. The sheriff’s office says Smith was fired as soon as he was arrested.
In a news release, the sheriff’s office said: “No one is above the law and this action has been taken to maintain the confidence of the public we serve. The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office maintains a strong commitment to morality and professionalism in law enforcement. This arrest demonstrates that commitment.”
Glenn Springfield, spokesman for the OPSO, says no more information on the nature of the crime is available as the investigation is ongoing.

America Is Not a “Proposition Nation”

Hi Tor,
One aspect of this that’s almost never discussed is all the people this “hero” ticketed/arrested prior to being caught for the rape. Every single “case” of his should be thrown out, the people charged/fined made whole – for the simple reason that this “hero” has shown himself to be a criminal and the say-so of a criminal should be worthless as testimony.
If this were made practice, it’d be a mighty inducement for these “heroes” to be have – or rather, made to behave.
