Reader Question: Volvo XC60 Sunroof?

Here’s the latest reader question, along with my reply!

Chris asks: You mentioned that the full-length sunroof is standard in the new XC60 (review is here) and reduces headroom. Do you know if there an option to delete the sunroof?

As always, your rant about “autonomous driving” is spot on.

My reply: In cases where the sunroof is standard, that means it’s included in all trims – so there’s no opting out. Kind of like ABS brakes and air bags!

The good news – in this case – is that there is generous headroom in the Volvo even with the sunroof. There is lots of adjustment up and down built into the seat, too.

I’m 6ft 3 and had plenty of air between the top of my head and the car’s ceiling. I think anyone up to about 6ft 5 should be ok, too.

SUVs and crossovers are usually ok for the very tall. It’s cars with sunroofs that often present a problem. I recommend going to a Volvo store and trying out the XC for yourself. It’s really the only way to know.

Thanks for the kind words!
