If you’re interested in what electrification is driving at, you might be interested to know that in Britain (and the rest of Western Europe) “sharply rising electricity prices have reduced the per-mile cost savings offered by EVs compared to fossil fueled (sic) vehicles.”
This from the British Climate Change Committee – acronymically as well as politically very close to the CCCP, which those who remember the Soviet Union will remember. Both want the same thing – and it begins with a “c.” The CCCP said it wanted it in the name of the “workers.” The CCC says it wants it in the name of the “environment.” Both want it for the sake of the politburo – the handful of connected politicos who control things in countries where “c” is well on the way to becoming the governing philosophy. It is always thus in “c” countries. Someone – or a few someones – must “speak” for the Great Collective, eh?
It is not a coincidence that the last leader of the old Soviet Union – Mikhail Gorbachev – shifted from red to green after the Soviet Union came undone. He understood that a time comes when a failing product has to be rebranded.
Anyhow, we see where things are headed now.
EVs have become “almost unaffordable for many, the CCC admits. And soon, for almost everyone. It is the point of the thing, you see.
They have been saying so for decades.
They hate cars. Or rather, they hate that almost anyone has been able to afford one. The ability to drive – as opposed to being taken for a ride – is something largely out of their control. It is also something that equalizes things. A person who has the means can own and drive a six figure luxury car. But a person without much means can also drive a car. Just as the average person can also take a hot bath in his air conditioned home. It may not be a 10,000 square foot home with a wrought iron gate and liveried footmen standing by the front door.
But it is not a hovel, either.
This is what electrification is meant to end. Put another way, it means to restore the distinctions that wealth and privilege once conferred.
Private car ownership was once something not for everyone because almost no one could afford to own a car. They were largely hand-built and to order. To get a glimpse into what it it was like, watch the first season of the British docudrama, Downton Abbey. The Earl of Grantham owned several cars – and had servants to drive him around in them. The servants had bicycles. Or they walked. And they lived their lives within the orbit of where a bicycle or their feet could take them.
EVs are the vehicles being used to restore that era. Most people cannot afford to buy them. Most people won’t be able to afford to charge them. That will leave a fewer and fewer people who still can.
They are precisely the ones pushing EVs. People like Pete Buttigieg, the Biden Thing’s Secretary (similar to general secretary) of Transportation. And those higher-up in the Party apparat. Biden being essentially the reincarnation of Brezhnev doddering on top of Lenin’s Mausoleum.
And, at last – cuing the voice of Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars – you understand why.
They admit the object is not to swap out existing cars for electric cars. It is to dramatically reduce the number of cars in private hands. They used to pine for this future privately, behind closed doors. They had to be quiet about it because the time was not right for it. The masses had not yet been sufficiently propagandized. People loved their cars and the freedom cars gave them. And there were still too many freedom-minded people about, having been reared in a country where that idea was once the dominant ideal.
It took time to change all of that. The time it takes to rear a new generation, one that takes its freedom for granted and does not understand what it will mean when it is gone – until it is gone. It has been a long march through the institutions, but – at last – the time is near at hand.
They talk openly now – believing the deal is almost sealed, having succeeded remarkably in getting a sufficiency of the people, the bulk of them under 30, to agree to their own enserfment – and even to demand it – for the sake of the “environment.”
Just as Gorbachev knew they would, given enough time.
Just as people like Gorbachev succeeded in weaponizing hypochondria, which succeeded in getting most of the masses to voluntarily wear a Diaper over their faces and line up for an injection they were assured was “safe and effective” – to protect them from a sickness they weren’t threatened by.
Just as people now feel threatened by a “climate crisis” equally exaggerated and hystericized, for the same end-purpose.
But – just maybe – a sufficiency of people will come to understand what these things all have in common, before it is too late and understanding it no longer matters. Hope that such understanding is spreading might can be found in the fact that a sufficiency of people appear to finally understand what the “vaccines” – and the “masks” – were all about.
Maybe enough will see the bigger picture. And see that it’s all the same damned thing.
We are walking on the razor’s edge. It could go either way.
We will soon know which way.

In my county there is a public transit agency called Laketran. This is their stated goal:
“Laketran’s goal is to take as many cars off the road to improve Northeast Ohio’s air quality.”
Gee, I thought they were just providing low-cost (meaning tax-subsidized) transportation for people who don’t have cars.
Ironically, their buses drive their routes mostly empty. How much air pollution is that causing?
The technocrats are so arrogant that they put trash like this out for the public. The next moron you meet who buys into the ‘Climate Crisis’ needs to see this document.

I agree completely with this articles points.
I hold out hope that their plan will be seriously short circuited ( pun intended) when reality intrudes and the grid collapses and the economy grinds to a halt.
That will open the door to a strong backlash where opportunistic politicians funded by oil and coal interests win broad public support.
Who knows this ridiculous overreach in power maybe the key to their downfall and a better world.
I know personally everyone I talk to, liberal and moderate, does not see EV’s working out. At the very least a long term of hybrids to transition. So there’s some hope.
EP is right. I read in the 90’s that green was the new red.
“This from the British Climate Change Committee – acronymically as well as politically very close to the CCCP”
I found this great website searching for the meaning of CCCP:
https://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/CCCP
…scrolling down I find:
CCCP Climate Change Challenge Programme
How about CCCC?
Climate Change Communist Committee
or CCCP
Communist Climate Change Programme
I like to meme these acronyms – like 20 years ago I memed USA into the USSR as USSA. I don’t know if I started it, but it caught on. I got the idea from my insurance company USAA, which I changed to USSA when I faked my insurance card.
I found that clever, as a way to get people to see Amerika was becoming like the old Soviet Republik – which collapsed after they invaded Afghanistan – the graveyard of empires. We certainly could be next with the Biden wrecking ball.

WRH linked to the latest Douglas Macgregor video – One Last Counter-offensive.
He says they are out of troops. Coincidentally, the internet is abuzz with a potential false flag to expand the war. Some say they are going to blow the nuclear plant and blame Russia – use that as an excuse for NATO to enter the war.
FDR did this with Pearl Harbor. He ordered the carrier group to park in the harbor to bait the Japanese into attacking. So well known what was going to happen, that a week prior to the attack, Hawaiian news headlines said “JAPS TO ATTACK OVER THE WEEKEND”

Anyways, Michael Riverio made a good video that all wars are banker wars, and that false flags to get us into a war go way back to at least the early 20th century.

False patriotism is waving the flag and pretending nothing is wrong with the nation.

Now remember those Bolsheviks who gunned down Czar Nicholas and his family, that was on 17th July 1918 and coincidentally neo-Bolshevik Victoria Nuland, architect of the overthrow of Ukraine in 2014, just said that July 11th they were going to do something big to get their war on.

Victoria Nuland Inciting WWIII With Russia July 11th, 2023

“Victoria Nuland, head of US State Department, has officially stated in a video conference with Kyiv that WWIII will effectively begin on July 11th stating that the US and its partners will fight as long as it takes – 16 years or more… The scheduled date was chosen to coincide with the NATO Summit, a one day meeting in Lithuania. I wonder how much this WAR will affect climate change… And what happened to the deadline 2030 for all things Great RESET?”
——————
The war is not ending with the collapse of Uke troops, they are going to expand it.
And, the USSA is sending F-16s, cluster bombs, long range missile, DU munitions, to Ukraine – so the idea that the war is over because Ukraine is out of troops must be false. They will get more troops as they expand the war – with NATO or Poland entering the war next.
See World Socialist Website article:
“US moves toward sending cluster bombs and long-range missiles to Ukraine”
Andre Damon
29 June 2023
“In reality, the United States has already provided Ukraine with the ground-launched small-diameter bombs (GLSDB) with a range of 93 miles, while the US’s NATO ally Britain has sent Ukraine Storm Shadow missiles, which can reach over 180 miles.
The US has given private authorization for Ukrainian strikes inside mainland Russia and publicly endorsed Ukrainian strikes inside Crimea. “Those are legitimate targets,” Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said. “Ukraine is hitting them. We are supporting that.””

Nice article Eric,
Never thought of this mess in relations to Downton Abbey before. It makes some sense as these stuck up pricks probably all watch it, longing for a return to what they see as a more civilized time. Never making the connection that they and their ilk are largely responsible for the current state of our less civilized civilization. Its rules for thee, but not for me. Many of these 0.001% ers probably sit around clutching their pearls, watching Downton Abbey, wanking it to the thought of an all powerful King or Queen.
The main thing standing in the way of their fevered wet dream are those few percent of us who long to be/remain free range humans, not being herded into the chute of the human abattoir, AKA 15 min cities.
Cars make us all equal. Be it a half million dollar Lambo or a thousand $ beater. It makes them vulnerable when they retire to their country places. All their fortresses are an easy afternoon drive from somewhere. The more things they destroy, the more hate they will receive from the unwashed masses. This makes the formerly sacred Queens rules no more than mere suggestions. At the heart of it all, our heartless garbage elite enjoys a form of White privilege unknown in all of human history. Heres to Americas garbage elite, since they seem to enjoy playing with matches and starting fires, may they be tossed on the raging bonfire of their own vanities
Barring Aliens coming down and giving us a new battery made from unobtainium, the EeeeVeee agenda is dead. Mark it down. Even the dimmest bulbs are figuring out that its just another grift. Thanks to you and others who spread the facts against an all powerful, overwhelming propaganda narrative. Proof once again that truth will eventually out, hopefully setting more people free.
Thanks, Norman!
Henry Ford changed the “Downton Abbey” model with his Model T. It was purposely designed to be the car for everyone – and it was. Now the guy helping to put together cars at the factor could own one the cars he was working to put together. Imagine that! There are people who hate him for that – and have worked for the past 50-plus years to undermine and destroy the freedom he helped to create for everyone. It took awhile for me to understand it – the malevolence of it – but once I did it all became clear. This is the key to ending them. And they are helping us – via their premature celebratory arrogance.
Eric,
I now understand these things as well. Thats the kind of stuff I learn here thanks to you and some others
Safe bet = anything the establishment repeats to you ad nauseum is brainwashing.
Eat less meat, you need all these meds, celebrate trans, fear climate change, they hate us for our freedom, Ukraine will defeat Putin’s attempt to reconstitute the USSR, safe & effective.
All without proof or in the face of it.

Report From Iron Mountain (1967) said the quiet part out loud: Big Gov always needs an amorphous threat to declare war against. At that time, it was pollution: soot, sulphur dioxide, dead rivers fouled by industrial chemicals.
With pollution almost eliminated, the narrative shifted seamlessly. Now emissions of carbon dioxide are said to fuel deadly climate change. This will require decades of war against the hydrocarbon fuels which, incidentally, made industrial civilization possible.
These bizarre, shifting official parables are not meant to taken literally, of course. They are smoke screens for elite looting; for keeping the cowed herd obedient to their rulers, lest the dread forecasted perils materialize.
And if emissions don’t get us, perfidious Putin will.
*sigh*
Might as well smoke another bowl of crack.
Your guys’ comments reminded me of parts of this interview:
‘Living in a Coup with Massive Election Rigging & War – Martin Armstrong’
“We are in the midst of a coup. We have all these people who have been neocons for 30 years. Even Ron Paul said recently that the neocons have been waging war for 30 years and have not won a one single one. This is what they live for. Look at the clip of Lindsey Graham saying this is the best money we ever spent killing Russians. How can you take pleasure in that statement that this is the best money we ever spent killing Russians. This is not defense. These are the words of a psychopath in my mind. . . . They are not about to accept anybody who is going to be against war. The neocons are in full control of the government—period. We are living in the time of a coup. The United States is not the free country you thought it was. . . .”
https://usawatchdog.com/living-in-a-coup-with-massive-election-rigging-war-martin-armstrong/
Martin Armstrong spent eleven years (2000-2011) in a fedgov prison. So he is not a starry-eyed gov lover, to put it mildly.
That Lindsay Graham video is one of the sickest, most evil things ever to come out of the mouth of a politician, and that’s saying something.
Good stuff Eric.
As for being on the edge, which we are, I think it will be geographical.
We all know propaganda works for a little while anyway. Will these lies be enough? Don’t know.
I spend time in deep blue and deep red areas. For sure the deep blue is part of the propaganda, but they most likely will succeed in tricking people.
Deep red, I don’t think so. They really don’t pay attention to Fed stuff. Even if it becomes 100% EV availability, they will make due for a long time with ICE stuff, and their states/counties/towns will not care, maybe even block said Fed laws.
OT but related. Last night I watched Oliver Stone’s film Nuclear Now. In it Stone makes the case that “his side” was duped by the big oil companies into making nuclear power an unviable option. There’s plenty of published evidence that shows the greens were funded by groups like the Rockefeller Foundation and big coal interests in the 1970s. But it should be noted that much of the green movement today is run by people who seemingly demand a massive reduction in energy consumption. As if people are going to be happy going back to a cold and dark world. “Oh, but no! You can still have your cake and eat it too… just pay 10X more up front for your mechanical and electrical systems.”
So now, instead of paying a little more every month to heat your home, you pay a lot more every month to a bank who financed your home improvement loan. Good thing you have that ultra-efficient heat pump to save a few dollars a month on the electric bill. And because there’s not much excess supply built into the electric grid, when there’s a serious demand the spot price skyrockets -helping out the commodities traders at those same banks (oh sure, there’s a chinese wall between departments) who trade all the futures contracts (which they buy with that money you’re paying them every month for the new heat pump loan). And as we’ve seen in the Texas grid disaster a few years back, electric companies pass the higher prices on to customers (as they should), turning those dollars saved into pennies, or maybe “be glad it was only that much.”

Can’t make money with plenty.
Hi RK,
I think around here the heat pump kool-aid drinkers are getting buyer’s remorse. The neighborhood blog is full of stories about how they’re great for A/C but heat not so much. Most have said they will go back to gas/heating oil as their primary heat source. Hopefully the truth is beginning to leak out.
I looked at replacing my swamp cooler and boiler with a heat pump. The cost for direct replacement was $7000 installed. The heat pump ran between $14,000 and $18,000 depending on how many zones I wanted. Now having a 4 zone system would have been pretty nice and if programmed properly would likely have been slightly less expensive to operate, but I’d have mini-split units on the walls in the bedrooms, a big ceiling unit (with condensate pump and tubing to eventually leak) and a big chunk of hardware outside. And complicated thermostats that wouldn’t play nice with my home automation.
But what’s worse is I’d be beholden to the HVAC guys when something goes wrong. I’m not going to buy a bunch of test equipment, vaccums and recovery tanks that are required for keeping the system working. My swamp cooler is good redneck engineering. Ridiculously simple to figure out, with parts avilable at most hardware stores. Same thing with my boiler. The most complicated thing is the control board, and even that’s a common enough part that I can get replacements on eBay or plumbing supply houses. Other than that it’s all just soldered copper and sheet metal. Simple stuff.
Grid down….no heat……
Energy shortage blackouts are coming because of an overloaded electrical grid, because of EV’s, heat pumps just waste more electricity and EV’s are 10 x worse,
Heat pumps are super-efficient, but they are known to not work as well in extreme cold (around -15C or 5F and below). if you live somewhere cold forget it…
I think the biggest problem with heat pumps is freezing up coils in the months with sub-freezing temps. Heat pumps will extract heat from outside throughout the winter. This can cause moist air around the coils to freeze. Then you have no heat. Same as ground source heat pumps, they too can freeze your ground around the lines in winter making your heating system ineffective.
nobody talks about the refridge oil and refrigerant they leak ….
just another electrical device giving off EMF, what a joke….
I would not use my heat pump to heat in the dead of winter. The efficiency goes out the window below about 7 degrees celsius,
….. then the electric auxiliary heater kicks in….what a joke…just an expensive electric heater then eating up electricity….
They also waste electricity, overload the grid, the overloaded grid is getting far worse because of EV’s…… grid down no heat…lol
watch …….electricity costs will skyrocket, it won’t be cheaper then natural gas……. buy candles now…
more problems
The compressor in my heat pump packed it in, so I opted to replace the entire unit since the R-22 refrigerant it runs has been phased out, and is therefore extremely expensive.
The brand new unit uses R-410A. ………Guess what? R-410A is already in the process of being phased out due to its “global warming potential”.
Do not forget you also pay more for your house if you have good credit. That thanks to the Biden regime. You get to pay more so as to help finance buying a home for those with crappy credit.
‘People now feel threatened by a “climate crisis” equally exaggerated and hystericized, for the same end-purpose.’ — eric
As if that weren’t enough, the Lügenpresse is restoring the inflationary, 1970s zeitgeist of dire materials shortages. This baleful ‘news’ article in the NY Slimes could be straight outta Pravda:
Eager to avoid falling further behind Tesla and Chinese car companies, many Western auto executives are bypassing traditional suppliers and committing billions of dollars on deals with lithium mining companies.
They are showing up in hard hats and steel-toed boots to scope out mines in places like Chile, Argentina, Quebec and Nevada to secure supplies of a metal that could make or break their companies as they move from gasoline to battery power.
Without lithium, U.S. and European carmakers won’t be able to build batteries for the electric pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles and sedans they need to remain competitive. And assembly lines they are ramping up in places like Michigan, Tennessee and Saxony, Germany, will grind to a halt.
Established mining companies don’t have enough lithium to supply the industry as electric vehicle sales soar.
https://archive.ph/DkNPe#selection-457.0-469.110
All of this is simple-minded regime propaganda, given a mild dramatic rewrite by modestly competent CIA stenographers. But for Big Gov’s fatwas, these looming disasters are wholly imaginary bugbears.
Replacement of liquid-fueled vehicles with EeeVees is as inevitable as communism superseding capitalism, the MarxMedia tells us. Yeah, I remember when capitalism finally went under. /sarc
All that’s inevitable about lithium-sourced Battery Baloney is the horrific crash when this mendacious gov/media bubble pops with a resounding bang.
“You lied to me, Fred. You’re a LIAR.”
— Roxie Hart to Fred Casely, Chicago
Meanwhile, you remember that quite effective lithium ion battery that ran your cell phone or your portable power tools? Sorry, not enough lithium left over after useless EV batteries to make those batteries any more.
“We are walking on the razor’s edge. It could go either way.”
Actually, it could go one of several ways, few of them in our favor.
It is no secret that those pushing this electrification agenda hate people. They have openly stated they want to take away 75% of our cars. Not theirs of course, nor their private jets. Openly stated they want to destroy agriculture, in the name of “climate change”, but in actuality, they want us hungry, cold, and tired.
They are psychopaths, and they sincerely do hate us for interfering with satisfying their psychosis. Their solution is to kill most of us.
No revolution was ever started by fat people. Hungry people, on the other hand……
Perhaps it was in The New Left: The Anti-Industrial Revolution by Ayn Rand where I read it (it was over 30 years ago when I read all her non-fiction over the course of a month or so) where she wrote, “Environmentalism is the new home for communism.”
Nothing that has transpired over the ensuing decades has occurred to dissuade me from believing that. The most accurate, though childish, term for them is Watermelons. Or, possibly we need to start calling them the Watermelon Brigades with St. Greta as their queen.
Regardless, a Plantation Planet is what we are faced with. It may have a run but, will eventually fall as do all totalitarian utopian projects. The one thing that will make this merry endeavor unique will probably be the body count. The last of which will be the WEF’ers with their heads on pikes.
Your statement:
“Environmentalism is the new home for communism.”
…is spot on.
Environmentalism has been the method used to impose communist principles on western society, especially in the USA.
Environmentalists are not content with promoting clean water, air and land, but are hell-bent on controlling human behavior, and yes, promoting extermination plans for much of humanity as these anointed types consider mankind to be a pestilence (except for themselves) to be reduced in population by any means necessary.
Environmentalists HATE the God-given concept of private property and have imposed government-backed and enforced land use controls on private property owners without compensation, clearly an unconstitutional taking of private property. If environmentalists want to control land use, let them purchase it themselves, not by government force. Today the only method of negating government-imposed land use restrictions is shoot, shovel, and shut up.
If environmentalists had their way, the earth’s human population would be reduced by approximately 90%, with the remainder to (be forced) to live in cities, in soviet-style high rise apartments, utilizing bicycles, buses and trains for transportation. The use of automobiles and access to pristine wilderness (rural) areas would be off-limits to us mere mortals, and would only be available for these anointed environmentalists.
The endangered species act is another abuse of environmentalism. Species are always changing, to adapt to their environments-survival if the fittest. In fact, the hoopla over the spotted owl (that placed much northwest timber land off-limits to logging) turned out to be nothing but scientific misconduct and arrogance. There are virtually identical species in other parts of the northwest.
More scientific malpractice occurred when government biologists attempted to plant lynx fur in certain areas to provide an excuse for making those areas off-limits for logging or development. Fortunately, these scientists were caught, however, no punishment was imposed.
In order to promote the false religion of “global warming” aka “climate change”, NASA “scientists” purposely installed temperature sensors in city parking lots and roads contrary to good scientific principles and practices in order to “skew” the “global warming” results.
In a nutshell, today’s environmentalism IS communism like watermelon-green on the outside and red (communist) on the inside.
It is interesting to note that communist and third-world countries have the WORST environmental conditions on the planet. Instead of the USA and other developed countries spending billions to get rid of that last half-percent of pollution, it would behoove the communist countries to improve their conditions first. Here is a question for you environmentalists: Why is there a push for restrictive environmental regulations, but only on the developed first-world countries, and not the gross polluters such as India and China?
3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. – Mathew 7:3-5 NIV
This idea is being bastardized by the greens (and leftists in general for everything contemptable about the right and centrists), under the concept of all sin is sin, and any treading on Gia is sinful. So there’s no difference between the toxic waste dump that is industrialized China and the Grand Canyon.
6“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. – Mathew 7:6 NIV
By allowing the greens to set the agenda we’ve handed them what is most sacred… truth, reason and logic. And now we can only watch as they trample those pearls into the mud. Soon they will tear us all to pieces.
Third world and communist countries are definitely hard on the environment. Any place where most of the citizenry live in poverty (and I mean real poverty, not food stamps and section 8 housing as it is here in the US) there is little incentive to properly care for wild animals, plants and natural areas. For instance, in India, it is not uncommon for people to go into nature preserves to gather firewood for cooking or graze their animals. Such a thing is almost unheard of here in the US national parks or even state parks. That’s because even the poorest people usually have some form of central heat and some kind of stove that doesn’t need wood to cook on. And also a grocery store where they can use their food stamps to procure food without having to raise animals.
People living on the edge of survival will do what they have to in order to survive. Even if that means raiding off limits government owned lands to find fuel and food.
Stupid people who live in the US who give their money to the WWF, Defenders of Wildlife and other such organizations are putting the very wildlife and nature they so cherish in danger. If it ever comes to that (third world style destitution) people in first world countries will think nothing of harvesting resources in order to survive. And it won’t matter if the animal is in season (or not), or if it is protected, or if the land is closed to timber harvesting.
Haiti is a good example of all of this – a land that has been stripped bare of forests and other resources because its citizens are desperate.
Anarchyst, those are Rand’s words, not mine. But, thanks for thinking it so.
“Environmentalism is the new home for communism.”
Except the actual communist nations could not care less about Nut Zero. China is trying to cut the smog over their cities, mainly by building new clean coal power plants to replace the old dirty coal power plants. Coal is not part of the Nut Zero plan.
The only possible source for affordable EVs in the US would be from China, with their lower cost labor, lower cost batteries, and lower cost, mainly coal powered electricity.
