Why are some people still wearing “masks”? I have asked myself and been pondering this question for years now. I think I have an answer.
The “maskers” are signaling their victimhood.
This latter having become a very popular form of expression in a country that used to have a culture of not thinking of oneself a victim, even if one actually was. Black people, for instance, understood they were looked down on by some people and and treated badly by some people. It didn’t prevent them from achieving things as opposed to blaming their failures on how some people felt about them or because someone had treated them – or ancestors – badly. They didn’t like the idea, most of them, of being a victim – especially perpetually – which is a degrading way to go through life. Far more so than being called something ugly by someone else.
Then it became fashionable to be a victim. Women became victims. Then people with physical handicaps. Then homosexuals. Then real freaks.
“Maskers.”
They wear their pathological hypochondria as a badge of honor. They are militantly proud of their victimhood. They want you to see how afraid – and how responsible – they are.
Most of them secretly burn with hot desire to force you to put on a “mask,” too.
The ones you see now are the ones who were preventing the “unmasked” from shopping or seeing their elderly family members if they refused to “mask.” They are the ones who find a safe space behind that “mask.”
Most of all, they really want you to see what they are going through. That they are willing to put that “mask” on just to be safe out there. That they are vulnerable. At-risk. So that you can both feel sorry for them and admire their “courage.”
They are, like most professional victims, part of a community of victimhood, the Cult of the Aggrieved. Most cults have symbology, some external affectation that conveys to others that they are in a cult. A good example of this is the way members of the Heaven’s Gate cult all cut their hair in the same Prince Valiant style and emulated the look of their leader. Another example of this phenomenon is the saffron robes (and shaved heads) of the Hare Krishnas. It is very important to look the same when you are in a cult because sameness is an essential attribute of people who are in a cult.
Because sameness is another way of saying submission.
And – for people in a cult – this is the very highest form of virtue.
It goes beyond not questioning; it transcends merely not thinking. It is an attitude of hostility toward those who do question – and think. They are dangerous outsiders and you can see that in the eyes of the people who “mask”when you catch them looking at you. It’s impossible to read their faces, obviously.
But the eyes say a lot.
They command you to see their victimhood, of which they are proud. They know that danger is still in the air and they are fighting it. Just as Oprah Winfrey fights the “racism” that made her a multi-millionaire. She still wants you to know that black people are oppressed. That women are, too. And that the freaks who insist that their “pronouns” must be respected, even if it requires coerced disregard for objective truth about biologically determined sex.
It is worth remembering that “maskers” victimized others, justifying it in the name of their own assumed victimhood. They were being put at risk by people who refused to join their cult. It was enough to assert (rather than prove) this, meaning the assertion amounted to their feelings about this. It didn’t matter that you – the “mask” refusenik – were not sick. You were still a threat to the “masked,” so they insisted.
Which was a confession of sorts by the “masked” that the things they wore and demanded you also wear did not “work,” as they insisted they did.
Because if they did, then they would not care whether you or someone else didn’t wear one.
It was not enough that they were free to avoid you. They forced their point of view on you.
None of us ever told them they could not leave home, or enter a store to shop or go the gym. Yet they were able to invert this and frame themselves as the victims because we wanted to leave home, go shopping, hit the gym and go about our lives.
We’re all in this together, if you remember. Because who could forget?
Will these people who still “mask” ever stop “masking”? Will Al Sharpton ever stop race-hustling? Will the communists – there are no Democrats anymore; RFK, Jr. was the last one and he’s now a Republican – ever stop victim-signaling?
It’s as unlikely to happen as the income tax being ended. But there’s always a slight hope that maybe, some day, it will.

We keep reading stories and seeing video evidence that very few if any public health directors and pro-mask politicians followed the “mandates” themselves back in 2020. Recently we heard about the NY Covid Czar Jay Varma having sex parties with hundreds of guests in 2020 and 2021, while schools and businesses were locked down and people told to stay apart at least six feet and to always “mask up”. You would think that the present maskers would realize this – Newsom, Pelosi, Feinstein, et al flouting mask mandates and stay-at-home orders in 2020.
The other day I saw three female, white girls between 18 and 20 years old walking together, all masked, in a Walmart. Like you said, they looked part of a cult and they looked stupid. There was something really off about their clothes and hairstyle too. The blue hair or purple hair weirdos with absent fathers, probably divorced parents, latchkey kids, completely brainwashed but never go on the Internet or read actual books to do their own research…just believe whatever news story headline pops up on their social media feed. No logic to their masking, because even if masks worked – which they don’t, not even the garbage N95 masks – their eyes and ears were exposed. They can just as easily get infected via the eyes and ears, and through any skin abrasions (assuming airborne viruses, let alone viruses, are even real). None of the politicians and public health tyrants are masking anymore, so why are these three girls?

RFK has talked about this at length; there is a definite uptick in health issues such as allergies and autism that tracks with the increase in the number of childhood vaccinations given that began in the ’90s. My generation – Generation X – only received a few childhood vaccinations and – while this is anecdotal – everyone else I know in my age group cannot remember knowing any autistic kids growing up. Also, almost none of us has serious or even any allergies. It may be due to some other factor, of course. But the correlation is interesting.

Had to take the neighbor’s wife to The Sickest Place On Earth® (The hospital) yesterday. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw about 25% of the ‘clients’ -mostly middle-aged women and young men- masked-up! Only saw 2 employees (nurses or whatnot) wearing the Dreaded Diaper®. I have always been skeptical of allopathic medicine because I grew up around it. While I respect doctors, because it’s not easy to become one, I avoid them. In an emergency involving physical damage to the body such as a compound fracture, of course, they can be invaluable. But as a general thing, if you are healthy and abide by healthy practices, you need a doctor like a fish needs a lifeguard.
The WORST thing in the world one can do to botch-up their health is to go for a “check up” or “screening”. You can be perfectly healthy when you go in, but on drugs the rest of your life, with deteriorating health when you come out.
They did a long-term study (I may’ve seen this on LRC) which was just recently published, in which they compared the longevity of men who had regular prostate exams, and who sought treatment where indicated vs. men who did not have any prostate exams. There was virtually no difference in longevity between the two groups.

Everyone has to be special. Everyone has to get a participation trophy. We’re all individual snowflakes (except when we are all the same -pay attention!). And everyone has their game. When you’re a white trash B-C student who exposed to beautiful people doing amazing things, you start to think “why not me!” And when you fail you have to blame someone else. When you’re exposed to death and manufactured destruction every day, you start to think “that could be me!” and pretty soon you’re on the mask and vaccine train. Add to that a natural fear of death and visualizing your own mortality (cough video games cough), and you’d probably be reaching for masks and MAO inhibiters too.
I just visited family in Santa Cllara and San Mateo counties. Nary a mask in sight but the few I saw were worn by asians walking around Stanford.
Santa Clara county had draconian covid policies. Also Stanford students were required to take and submit weekly covid tests and be up to date on covid vaccines. And of course mask.
Sadly Eric it is a cult but you can still give them the old stink eye when you see one of them. They’ve never responded to it yet from me, perhaps I should just laugh and point? Fun times either way.
In other news it looks like my buddy is still a no go for coffee. He’s of Chinese descent and appears to have drank too muck of the Kool-Aid, perhaps by next year he’ll realize he’s been had.
I still see some elderly masking. They look genuinely afraid, I can see it in their eyes. But for the most part, those masking, particularly the young, are making a statement of victimhood and superiority. “Look at me, I care about others.” How many years are we post COVID outbreak and we still have these insane maskers?
Most of my amateur radio club is over 60, going on 80. A few have chronic medical conditions from too much 1970s Aspen lifestyle. One in particular went full lockdown during COVID and was extremely vocal about it. I only see him on Zoom anymore, he doesn’t go out. Apparently he moved out of his up-valley house into an assisted living facility that appeals to old couples who have too much money. To me it looks like 3 hots and a cot with nicer furniture, but hey, that’s his choice. He loves to talk politics on the repeater (something generally frowned on), works vaccines into every conversation and makes it sound like he can’t function in the world because of everyone else not catering to his disability. Sad that.

Nah. They’re not really people anyway, just walking medical industrial complex ads. I don’t look at or talk to masked people. No reason to. They hate me anyway since I breathe air. Also, I’m still a leper since I’ve never been injected with the poison. The beautiful poison that’s saved billions of lives and allows the masked to walk around in fear and loathing. The maskers will just have to die off and it will be decades and maybe a century before the insanity of those people is forgotten or at least scorned.

I see them somewhat differently. I look upon them as I would a copperhead moseying across the lawn. A danger to be recognized. Latent, for now. But still a danger, potentially. Like a mumbling-to-himself schizophrenic except worse because these people are also infected with the disease of Marxism.
A danger indeed, deficient in the capacity for objective thought, and it would be a waste of precious time to tell them the truth. Embrace victim-hood. Be the victim. Surely, someone or something will save them from themselves.

I expect Mike Pizzo to chime in about how “masking” is no big deal and that I ought to get over it. I’d be happy to- if these loons would show their faces and concede they’d been had and were wrong to hassle those of us who didn’t fail the IQ test.
I don’t know, Eric. I no longer think they are a big deal. Are you using your mask properly?
