Well, who doesn’t “have the opportunity” to work at McDonald’s?
I did, when I was in high school. It was my first paycheck job. Not a career – unless I had decided to go to “hamburger school,” as McDonald’s calls its management-training program. But that makes the point, doesn’t it? There is opportunity – for anyone who wants to work – even at McDonald’s. And literally anyone who can show up on time and learn to competently ring up orders or man the fry machine can work at McDonald’s. Those who work hard can become assistant managers – then managers – and even own a McDonald’s franchise, in time.
No one is denied the “opportunity” to work at McDonald’s. Or to work. It is a specious assertion made by communists like Harris, who seek to foster victimhood – and then exploit the sense of aggrievement that arises from it.
Harris herself had all kinds of “opportunities” – including the opportunity to sleep with a powerful, much older man – San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown – who provided her with many “opportunities” in exchange. This horrid, situationally black woman who is the vice president of the United States has the audacity to assert that “opportunity is not available to everyone.”
And yet it was available to a person of no discernible talent, beyond her ability to please Willie Brown. 
She is the perfect avatar of the political movement that imposes orthodoxy while talking up “democracy.” This woman received not one vote from any Democrat and yet had the “opportunity” to become that political movement’s nominee for the highest office in the country literally handed to her. It is an “opportunity” that “is not available to everyone.”
Communists are clever – and fierce – in the manner of rats. One must concede them that. Like rats, they will find a way to get what they want and then take it. That is the sort of “opportunity” Harris excelled at taking advantage of. It is very much like the “opportunity” Lenin availed himself of when the Germans offered him a train ride back to Russia – and the one he took when the Stupid Party of pre-communist Russia, the Mensheviks, allowed the Bolsheviks to assume the title of the majority they weren’t.
Harris, like every good communist, knows an “opportunity” when she sees one. She knows there is an “opportunity” to invert reality by pretending she had nothing to do with the policies of the administration she’s been part of for the past almost four years; that she will do things she could do right now – Biden having been put in the basement with mint chip ice cream and a steady supply of Depends – once she’s elected.
And, of course, she will do exactly that.
It is the “opportunity” she has been waiting for her whole life and you can bet she’ll make the most of it, if she gets the chance.

25 years ago, a person could — if they were frugal — make ends meet working part time at McDonald’s. 20-30 hours would have done the job even at minimum wage.
Now? Even working full time, for far more than minimum wage, it’s practically impossible.
Working people are getting royally screwed, and have been for decades, and it’s only getting worse.
There are less jobs than there are people who want to work. A cutthroat game of musical chairs. Competing with other slaves for the privilege of enriching others, for survival. There was a time in my life where if I didn’t have a free place to stay, I’d eventually be dead, for inability to get a shit job. Or I’d have to join the military, principles out the window for survival. And more foreigners are brought here daily to exacerbate the problem. Please, politicians, stop “creating” anything. Politicians only take from some to give to others, and skim some for themselves, so on net, they’re a drag on the economy.
If you want an opportunity economy, rescind all the rules which stifle opportunity. Why must I get permission to open a business? Why do I need a license to do something like cut hair or fix a car? Why does my local government dictate what kind of building I must use for a particular task, or what kind of sink I must have in a garage? In general, why do people need permission to work at all? Trading one’s labor for something is a fundamental human right, IMO.
Today, it’s far easier to suck on the government teat than it is to take a risk and start a hustle, which can eventually turn into a business. Side-hustles are basically regulated out of existence, so you have to immediately go all-in on a registered, permitted, licensed business, and that prices most people out of the attempt.

I have to respectfully disagree. I don’t think her dumbness is an act…I think she is really that stupid. I can’t stand the Bleached But Queen, but she is intelligent. Personally, I don’t think Trump is an academic either, but he has business sense and can read a room and the people in it. A lot of people can’t do that. Harris is a trained puppet. I also believe she suffers from overwhelming insecurity which is why she cackles when she can’t think of anything to say. Harris is passive. That is not how one runs a country. What began with a television commercial and a catchy jingle has led to Harris. A candidate chosen by the casting directors specifically for the color of her skin, not the contents of her character. As for creating “opportunity” that’s all fine until it comes time to come up with the money to pay all these new unskilled laborers. Right now the focus in fast food is automation. Don’t know how my last posting got repeated, but I wanted to post this. We have been automating fast food for 20 years. We can easily build that burger far more accurately, precisely, and consistently than the crew of millennial kids do now. So far the industry prefers humans, and the economics aren’t quite as good as you’d think, because food is nasty and the wash down requirements really raise the maintenance cost and lower the life of the systems. But as inflation in minimum wages continues, that barrier will fall and we will automate every franchise in a very short time period.

While the “opportunity” is open to everyone, keeping it is not. Work hard, keep your mouth shut, show up a little early and learn so as to be promoted to a higher paying task should be the goal. But all I see is whining about hard work for not enough money. Your employer took a chance on hiring an unskilled worker maybe they should reciprocate by showing they were worth the risk the employer took in hiring you.
I used to get into it with the HR lady when I was a supervisor. She’d hand me a pile of identical resumes, all from the same tech school, wanting me to interview half of them. I’d interview them, they’d all have the same extremely basic training (how to install Windows) and I’d reject all of them. She wanted warm bodies to fill a slot. I wanted competent techs who could climb ladders as well as they could fix cable and computers.
I hired a few people from schools or off the street with no experience. Most of them might make it through training, but a number of them walked away after trying to carry the ladder, or getting in over their head with a bad customer PC. It wasn’t worth the effort.
And a few suddenly used up all their sick time in the first few weeks out of training. Their coworkers gave me a lot of grief over those hires…
But, if you were a person of diversity you automatically got an interview. And some of them got hired too, but didn’t last. I think some of them were building up their resume’ and got better paying jobs almost immediately. That’s OK, I understand. But it did stink that we couldn’t keep them on the payrolls so our workforce looked very pale…
