And Now We’ll See

Trump has done it. The question now is – will he do it?

Will he do more than just talk, that is?

We’ll soon see.

The first thing we’ll see is who he appoints to key positions. If he appoints people such as Nimarata Haley and Mike Pompeo it will not be necessary to wait and see what he’ll do after he is inaugurated come  January (assuming the Jacobins who still have their hands on the levers of power accede to this). If he appoints even one “swamp thing,” we’ll know that it’s worse than he didn’t know better than to bring such people into his administration the last time. He did it knowing exactly who these people are.

And he approves of them.

Then we’ll see what he does with regard to – for openers – the federal regulatory apparat’s pushing of battery powered vehicles via the imposition of regulations that only battery powered vehicles can comply with. He can simply declare that such regulations lack the force of law, having never been passed as laws by Congress, which as of this writing appears to have transitioned to Republican control of both houses. He has every legal and moral right to cut the cord, so to speak – and the political backing. He also has the charisma to explain why to the public. He could – and should – demand that any further regulations be specifically authorized by the Congress, per the Constitution – and disembowel the extra-legal authority of the regulatory apparat. And fire the useless-eater apparatchiks.

If the time is not now, why?

Will he end the electric car grift that has benefitted his new friend Elon Musk to the tune of many billions of dollars via the “carbon credit” extortion regime? Will he tell Elon that Tesla must sell electric cars on their merits – as determined by the willingness of people to buy them without being paid to buy them? Will he end all the federal subsidization of battery-powered vehicles as well as the regulatory mandating of their manufacture?

Will he allow Americans the right to buy what they want – as opposed to what the government allows? Will he immediately rescind the barriers that prevent manufacturers such as Toyota from offering vehicles like the $13k HiLux pickup in this country because they do not “comply” with every jot and tittle of federal regulatory folderol?

Will he shiv the evil pharmaceutical cartels that have acquired appalling control over not just the regulatory apparat (FDA) but also of Congress? Will he debar any person from serving in any capacity in the FDA who has ever previously worked for the pharmaceutical cartels and who is unwilling to sign a binding agreement that they may never work for any of the pharmaceutical cartels after the end of their government “service”? So as to shiv the revolving-door influence peddling? How about a new law – passed by the new Republican Congress – debarring the cartels from contributing any money to any politician?

Screw what the Supreme Court has “ruled” (as it is styled) about corporations being “persons” under the law and entitled to “free speech.” That is utter nonsense and has also been profoundly corrupting.

How many divisions does the Supreme Court have?

Enough, at last. It is time to end this business of nine people (five people) having de facto dictatorial control over the country. The Constitution did not endow the Court with this  power. The Court simply took it. There is no constitutional reason why it cannot be taken back.

And Trump could do it. He has the authority and far more important, he has the momentum as well as the affirmation of the people. He must use it to benefit the people by dismantling the corrupted apparat that has hag-ridden the people for decades. It must be pulled from the earth and the ground salted.

Laws must be passed by elected representatives – not unelected apparatchiks who cannot be voted out of their offices. Judges at all levels must return to deciding cases on the facts as they pertain to the law and cease making law.

There is also this ugly business of millions of people being here who have no right to be here. They are not “migrants.” They are illegal aliens. It is not necessary to deport them. It is essential to refuse them any “benefits” whatsoever that are funded by the tax dollars of American citizens. Make it a federal criminal offense for any person who has been entrusted with public money to dispense any of it to anyone who is not an American citizen.

That will very quickly solve the “migrant” problem.

There are also things he had better not do – such as require American citizens to produce “papers” on demand so as to establish they are not “migrants.” Among other things, that means closing “border” checkpoints that are not actually at the border. And tearing up (so to speak) the federal REAL ID law that is step-by-step imposing an internal passport regime on Americans.

He must defend the right of the people to free speech, to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures; to have the right to keep and bear arms. To be presumed innocent until convicted of a criminal act.

He must put Americans first.

We will soon see.

Either he is the president of the people – as he claims to be.  Or he is a fraud. Which will it be?

  1. That was an excellent summation, Eric! Howevah; man, don’t tease me bro: “Will he immediately rescind the barriers that prevent manufacturers such as Toyota from offering vehicles like the $13k HiLux pickup in this country”. …Could you imagine?

1st news bit I read this A.M. seemed like the fix is in & the minimizing & walking-back is already starting. For example:

“On immigration, we expect an incoming Trump administration will reduce immigration to around 750k/year, slightly below the 1mn pre-pandemic trend.” […]

“On regulation, an incoming Trump administration would likely take a lighter-touch approach, particularly with regard to energy, financial, and labor policies.” …

For sure, ‘And Now We’ll See’.

  2. Eliminating CAFE standards would be a huge gift to car guys. They distort the market and are completely unnecessary with so many efficient/ EV options these days.

  3. The big looser of this election has to be the old corporate media. Even with every major news outlet screaming “LITERAL HITLER!” at the top of their lungs Trump still managed to win. Trump and Vance spent 6 hours with Rogan. Something the Harris campaign wouldn’t do, thinking that Rogan needed Harris more than she needed him. Comcast is mulling over breaking out their media holdings into their own tracking stock because NBC-U is dragging down revenue. Disney is falling apart. Long loved Hollywood “franchise” story lines are being shunned by fans because of political views being shoehorned into narrative.

Ad spend is up but viewership is way down. That’s a breeding ground for out of touch reporting and false signals. This is why Comcast is looking to spin out their media holdings – The ad revenue was never the primary source of revenue for cable networks, it was always the subscription fees. With Charter’s and Xfinity’s television products bleeding out as customers flee to streaming and other services, cable TV might finally be joining the newspapers, succumbing to the cacophony of cheap communications (ironically created by the cable companies). I’m an old cable guy. I stopped watching regular TV back sometime around 2020-2021, even when I still got it for free. About the only thing I watched before then was the local jiggle show news, but by that time the hot young anchor women were replaced by diversity hires. I can get the weather report from a dozen places, why should I sit through 20 minutes of ads to watch a chubby girl tell me it’s raining?

When I retired I turned in my cable box and went to Internet only. Most of what I watch is stuff produced by individuals, not corporations. Much more entertaining.

  4. I’d like to think that having Gabbard, RFK Jr, Ramaswamy, et al on his side will keep him from the likes of pompeo and the neocon hoards.

  5. I’m pleasantly shocked. After 100 felony charges and two assassination attempts and numerous civil suits, I thought they would rig it and make it impossible for him to win.

But he did. You really gotta admire the guy’s stamina and tenacity and self-confidence after all they’ve put him through.

  6. He has yet to be inaugurated. A lot can happen in two and a half months.

With this, however, the Gray Champion returns, per Strauss & Howe. Based on their Fourth Turning theory we should see a conflagration the likes of which we’ve never known before. It will probably end with the Western World, led by the U.S., to be dethroned and the Global South, led by BRICS, to replace it.

The management of this collapse of Empire is now in the hands of The Orange One. As you said, Eric, it all depends on whom he chooses to listen to. If any NeoCons are brought in you know this political soufflé is going to fall.

    God help us all.

    • I think it is likely that Biden will step down so that Harris can be The First Female of Color President. Because that’ll show ’em!

Winning on a technicality for an irrelevant point is pretty much par for the course with these idiots. I mean, they’re lawyers right? A conviction is a conviction and an acquittal is an acquittal. Even though the only charge that stuck to Al Capone was tax evasion, they still call it a victory.

  7. Yeah, we’ll see. I think the establishment wanted Trump to win. That is, if they’re really not going to find truckloads of votes mysteriously. I’m not convinced it is a done deal because these fuckers are so outrageously in-your-face fraudulent.

It is encouraging so far! So, I’m happy for that. Time will tell.

    • Perhaps the establishment figured having no southern white boys in the army was worse for them than having RFK in the cabinet.

      Hopefully we get both
