In mentioning wheels (which has nothing to do with the Podcast) does anybody have any ideas where one goes to get wheels that were only made for two years (2005-2006) for a Mercedes? There is a pair on EBay on sale, but they are in worst shape than ours. We tried getting the wheels refinished, but because they are a two part wheel and not a solid base no one is interested, because it is pretty time consuming.
We are looking for the original wheels, nothing after market. Any ideas? I haven’t had to much success with the World Wide Web.
All and all suggestions welcomed! 😁
Are the tires available on Tire rack?
Another option may be to ask on a Mercedes forum.
Apologies for not having more useful information.
Hi RG,
This will be a treasure hunt. I’ve been there/done that with other oddball/hard-to-find wheels. Mith’s suggestion – about searching MB Forums – is a very good one. And keep regularly checking eBay Motors and Craigs as a set may come up. Another thing to try is junkyards. Somewhere in the country, there is probably a Benz like yours that got parted out and they have the wheels on a shelf in back. Most of these yards are now computer-inventoried and if you call tey can search for you regionally. There are several in my area and I’d be happy to check them for you if you like. Just need the specific info: Year/model of the vehicle and the size/type of wheels you need.
You’ll find them!
