The Next Step

Last week, California’s ruling elites – the “government” really ought to be referred to in this more accurate way – decreed that no one in California will be allowed to buy a new car that isn’t an electric car – an EeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeee – beginning with the 2035 model year.

What will California’s ruling elites decree next?

It is easy enough to predict – because of the problem (for California’s ruling elites) that exists and will remain absent further decrees. That problem being, of course, the vast majority of cars owned by Californians that aren’t EeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeees. This being about 97 percent of the cars in California at the present moment, which is not likely to be even 50 percent by 2035.

And that is probably optimistic – if you are someone who believes everyone or most everyone ought to be driving an EeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeee.

For one, probably at least 50 percent of the cars currently on the road are likely to still be on the road ten years hence – which will take us to just about 2034, which is the last year it will still be legal to sell other-than-EeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeees in California – because almost any car sold this year will still have many years of useful life left in it. So also most of the cars sold in the past five years. And then there are the cars that will be sold in the coming years, all the way up through the 2024 model year.

This will leave a lot of cars that aren’t EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeeeees still on the roads and that will be a problem for those pushing EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeeeees because it will leave open the door for millions of people to avoid buying or dealing with owning an EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeee – which you can expect millions of them to walk right through for as long as they possibly can, for the same fundamental reasons that most people prefer things that cost less and work better to those that cost more – and don’t.

This is not likely to be abided by California’s ruling elites – i.e., “the government” – and that probably goes double-plus-good for the ruling elite that is the federal “government.” It is why the price of gas (and diesel) have doubled – the rise to triple having been temporarily abated to get us to and through the mid-terms, assuming they are allowed to occur and assuming the results aren’t pre-ordained, irrespective of the vote.

It was necessary to make driving a non-EeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeee twice as expensive in order to make buying an EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeee seem less expensive. But even that is not enough – because EeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeees are so much more expensive than non-EeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeees. And that’s leaving aside the cost of all the time they force you to spend waiting on them.

The cost of gas would need to quadruple – at least – in order to make buying an EeeeeeeeVeeeee other than a money-waster (setting aside the time-wastage). This is likely to happen after the midterms – assuming the ruling elites retain control of the government.

Other things are likely to happen, too. As has been happening generally, it is likely to begin in California.

One very likely thing is a decree that it will cost more to register (and renew the registration for) any car that isn’t an EeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeeee. Expect additional fees to be applied to make it progressively more costly to own – let alone use – a car that is not an EeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeee. For example, a special/annual “carbon footprint” tax. This is likely to be shame-marketed as a “polluters pay” tax. The “pollution” being the dread inert gas, carbon dioxide – which EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeees “emit” more of, just not via their nonexistent tailpipes.

But never mind that. The point has never been carbon dioxide “emissions.” The point has always been to use that shibboleth as the excuse for mandating EeeeeeeeeeVeeeeees, which are to serve as the vehicles for drastically reducing the number of vehicles in private hands. Once it becomes illegal to buy anything new that is not an EeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeee, it will be “discovered” that generating electricity to charge EeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeees produces immense invisible clouds of the dread inert gas – and then you will see restrictions (and costs) piled on EeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeeees, too.

But in the meanwhile, there remains the problem of alternatives to EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeees. These alternatives must be eliminated, so as to leave no alternative to EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeeeeeeees.

Expect a ramping up of measures years before we get close to 2035. It is not improbable the ruling elites will issue decrees similar to those already decreed by the elites who are the “governments” of Western European countries such as Germany and France, where decrees forbidding the use of other-than-EeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeees in certain areas, such as the downtown areas of major cities. The French have gone one step farther than that, banning all cars – period – in parts of Paris beginning in 2024 – which is little more than a year from now.

The ruling elites aren’t even trying to hide their endsieg – their final victory. That being over the car, as such. Or – more precisely – over the general private ownership of cars that has given the average person the freedom to move, independently of the regimentation of the ruling elites. To be able to live far from where he works. To be able to move far away, for the sake of better work – or a different life. To be able to just move, on his own, without permission, on the spur of the moment, wherever he feels like going.

The ruling elites cannot rule such people. It is why they are shoving EeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeees on us more aggressively than a time-share shyster at a “free” weekend vacation you got tricked into signing up for. It is why they are going to have to make alternatives to EeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeees economically impossible – just before they wheel around on EeeeeeeeeeeeeeVeeeeeeeeees, themselves.

Just like many cities do now with the homes of renters, treat them like they are in a hotel room, and nothing more than a number on a statistical chart.

I remember years ago how they were attempting to do much the same with livestock, the ear tag on cattle was supposed to become a mega tracker jacker, I don’t know how bad that’s gotten.

  3. The climate change emergency…lol

Banning all ice cars, shutting down power plants based on a huge lie. Just a huge money grab by climate cultists….

“Nothing To Do With Man” – Astrophysicist Says Climate-Cultists “Are On A Gravy Train” To Make Money

Piers Corbyn – physicist, meteorologist, and elder brother of former UK Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbyn – explained to the shocked RT anchor that the climate “has always been changing, but this has nothing to do with man”

The astrophysicist instead believes that changes in the Earth’s climate and its weather are dictated primarily by cyclical activity on the surface of the sun (and not, pointedly, by the effects of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere).

“For one thing science doesn’t do settled opinions,” Corbyn says.

“And for another they are all wrong.”

“Surely man has something to with this,” exclaims the struggling new anchor, to which Corbyn responds:

“No, the only connection is that man is here at the same time as the sun and the moon are doing things.”

  4. A friend who used to live up in Truckee said she and her neighbors heated their homes with pellet stoves. Very cheap efficient and easy to use.

  5. They will really have to push to get everyone onboard with electric. The thing is – I know of at least 2 early electric car users who have gone back to petrol cars. Neither due to the cost element (one works in MG and basically gets them for free) – just the inconvenience of having to plan trips around re-charge stops, or the inability to make a last minute long journey….

Having said that – with King Charles the Turd in on the throne, I do worry things will start moving faster in the direction of coercing us plebs into all sorts of things…

Germans are a test case, to see what human lab rats will do when their access to gas heating is curtailed:

(Reuters) – Germans could overload their power grid as they switch to inefficient [sic] electric heaters in an attempt to avoid gas shortages this winter, utilities warned in an article published on Sunday.

Households have been stocking up on electric fan heaters, including portable devices, sales figures show, amid fears that Russia could cut or further limit gas supplies in the wake of its war in Ukraine.

“They can overburden the power grid, for instance when many households switch on their fan heaters in one part of town at the same time on a cold winter’s night,” BDEW [utilities association] director Kerstin Andreae said.

Klaus Mueller added that even amid very high gas prices, electric heaters would still cost users more than gas-based central heating, the most common form of residential heating in the country.

      ————

As usual, the Lügenpresse — staffed by liberal arts and gender studies grads — muffs it on technical issues. Electrical resistance heaters are essentially 100% efficient: ALL of the power gets converted to useful heat.

It’s just that Germany’s intermittent-source, solar and windmill-powered electrical grid is crippled at night … when heating (and EeeVee charging) demand is highest.

Whoops — time for a total rethink! Except time has run out, and winter is coming.

“Many [so-called] ‘environmental’ leaders were now saying that ‘humans are the enemies of the Earth, the enemies of Nature.’ I could not accept that

humans are the only evil species. This is too much like ‘original sin,’ that humans are born with evil,

but all the other species are good, even cockroaches, mosquitos, and diseases,” Moore argued.

He said the new dominant philosophy is that the world would be better if fewer people existed.

“But the people who said this were not volunteering to be the first to go away. They behave as if they are superior to others. This kind of ‘pride’ and ‘conceit’ is the worst of the Cardinal Sins,” Moore said.

the demonization of CO2 as “completely ridiculous.” He added that CO2 is the basis of all life on Earth and its concentration in the atmosphere today, even with the increase, is lower than it has been for a large majority of life’s existence.

Rising CO2 Correlates With Increased Plantation: Study
A study in 2013 found that increased levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) have helped boost green foliage across the world’s arid regions over the past 30 years.

the climate is that the Earth is colder today than it was for 250 million years before the Pleistocene Ice Age set in. And CO2 is lower now than in more than 95 percent of Earth’s history.

    • Trouble is, Mark3, there will be no cars left by 2040. The current cars are too complex and delicate- once out-of-warranty, and no longer supported by the manufucturer, they’re shredder bait the first time anything medium goes wrong. The older cars are already getting scarce, and parts are getting hard to find. Junkyards are all but disappearing. And of course, EVs suffer even more from the above fate, and are unsustainable because there isn’t enough ‘lectricity/chargers, and they are too expensive. CARS are just going to disappear if this BS continues….and I guess that is their evil plan.

      • Hi Nunzio

        Off to the shredder…

More cash for clunkers coming, that will get rid of more cars.

When a car becomes a liability, through insurance and registration costs which will go way higher to get rid of them, plus on going maintenance just sitting there, plus depreciation, plus the fact you can’t drive it anywhere because of more restrictions on ice vehicles, you fall out of love quickly and get rid of it. Plus the coming inability to sell it at all because of restrictions, motivates people to dump them.

At least a van you can park by the river and live in it. The homeless are the new nomads, they live in tents.

  6. So what are the elites going to do next to screw us? Well, they often tells us their plans in movies, like they did with 911, they put a whole lot of references to 911 in Back to the Future, and what it proves is that the engineered take down of your society is pre-planned well in advance.

Citing Experian data, Wolf Richter writes that “In total, there are only 1.8 million EVs on the road, for a still minuscule share of 0.63% of the 284.4 million vehicles in operation.”

    https://wolfstreet.com/2022/09/09/what-americans-are-driving-vehicles-in-operation-used-vehicle-exports-evs-and-stuff-for-engine-geeks/

After 14 years of Tesla sales … after the entire US fedgov and its PR arm, the mainstream media, have gone all-in on them … EeeVees are not even one (1) percent of vehicles on the road.

    It is to laugh: ridiculous.

It’s entirely possible that the climate changers’ brash campaign to completely replace the propulsion technology of America’s vehicle fleet trips and faceplants.

Kind of like the 20 years they spent in Afghanistan to replace the Taliban with … the Taliban. We are not talking about strategic geniuses here.

“The new law will ban the sale of all off-road, gas-powered engines, including generators, lawn equipment, pressure washers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, and even golf carts. Under the new law, these machines must be zero-emissions, meaning they will have to be either battery-powered or plug-in, according to the Los Angeles Times.”

  9. It didn’t pass, but a couple of years ago, a city council member where I live in Mountain View, CA, proposed restricting gas pump flow so that the time it takes to fill up a gasoline car would be on par with the time to charge an electric car, to remove the biggest difference between them. Luckily, this proposal went nowhere. It does go to show you, however, what these deluded “minds” in power are thinking. They’re totally fine wasting society’s time and money as long as it fits their agenda. It’s not like they’ll be filling their own cars, they have people to do that for them.

  10. I would like to know how these state laws, or decrees, or fatwahs…whatever, I want to know how these stand the test of not interfering with interstate commerce? Banning ICE vehicles certainly can be construed to be interference with interstate commerce, as interpreted by the supremes. If one of us should dare to…oh I dont know, grow some food or ban certain types of individuals from our hotel…the supremes have certainly ruled that these tiny little ripples in the economic pond amounted to interference or having the effect of interfering with interstate commerce. So why not this?

  11. My grampaw in Caldwell County NC heated his house with wood for as long as I remember.
His big out building always had enough stacked up for 3 years. They had a heat pump but only used it for a/c in the summer, even then it was 80 degrees in the house. He never owned a tv his whole 95 years, just a radio in the basement for the news and Amos and Andy.

  12. While California was blacking out I was in Las Vegas, with 114º high temps. No blackouts, no asking to not recharge vehicles and no reduction in AC. In fact I had a laugh when I saw a Tesla supercharger station with several CA teslas charging -come to Vegas to recharge, stay for the loose slots and prime rib buffet! The Freemont Street casinos still have their wide entrances blowing cold air onto the sidewalk like a walk in freezer, the lights and video walls are still on in the noon day sun, and no one seems to care. Actually, most of the tourists I saw were probably too high to care, but that’s another topic…

If California doesn’t want to produce power that’s fine. But they also don’t seem to be all that interested in beefing up their interconnects either. A high tension line can only handle so much current before failure. The fix would either be to install more lines in parallel, if possible. But that would require buy-in from every NIMBY in the state, and enviromental assessments, health assessments, safety assessments and statements of need. And that’s just if you want to upgrade what’s there. If you add in land acquisition for new transmission lines, forget it!

    • ‘If California doesn’t want to produce power that’s fine.’ — ReadyKilowatt

As you would expect from a socialist peoples republic, California is the nation’s largest importer of electric power:

‘Electricity imports account for approximately 30 percent of total system electric generation each year.’

      https://www.energy.ca.gov/data-reports/energy-almanac/california-electricity-data/2021-total-system-electric-generation

California is happy to assume the lead (a privilege codified in Section 177 of the Clean Air Act) in promulgating stricter emissions standards … but unwilling to actually generate all the power needed to run its EeeVee fleet.

Do as we say, not as we do. — pious liberal proverb

      • That’s interesting Jim, in light of the constant bragging by the state’s politicians that if CA were a country they’d be the sixth largest GDP. Imagine if they actually produced all their own energy, using the available resources? Heck, even if they had to import uranium from Utah to run a half dozen or so nuclear power stations (there’s room at Diablo Canyon for four more, and San Onofre could be rebuilt… and that combo should easily supply all the baseload power for the state with excess), that energy independence might push their GDP up a place or two in the rankings.

  13. ‘The cost of gas would need to quadruple – at least – in order to make buying an EeeeeeeeVeeeee other than a money-waster’ — eric

Crude oil and gasoline are rigged markets:

‘Last week saw almost 8.54 million barrels withdrawn from the SPR (Strategic Petroleum Reserve) – the biggest weekly drain in history.’ — ZH Chart:

    https://tinyurl.com/bdsts4rb

Never mind that “Biden” chopping the SPR nearly in half is illegal and treasonous. It’s also unsustainable.

Once “Biden’s” crass partisan manipulation is withdrawn, market forces will reassert themselves: not only on oil prices, but also on utility rates.

Germany has cut its electricity consumption by 20%, via price rationing. But its smelters and fertilizer plants have shut down, crippling the economy.

Shall we try that here? Effectively, “Biden” is desperately burning the furniture in the fireplace before winter even arrives. What then?

    Criminals have hijacked our country.

  14. I cannot even imagine what people from the 1800’s that crossed this country in wagons and on foot and then the Industrial Revolution would say about the world we are living in now. They got trains, electricity, phones, airplanes, indoor plumbing, telegraph, then the telephone, TV, cars, on and on. Even better education than now. No confusion over the sex of someone. All those miracles that made life easier and better. Now, the tyrannical rulers want to do away with all of that—except for them of course.
What if not long after trains, phones, electricity and cars were just catching on, the government tried to tell everyone, ‘hey all of this is bad for the environment’. I think there would’ve been a lot of politicians going to an early grave.
So, we have people come back from the 19th and 20th century, show them everything, how easy life is, then we tell them, ‘yeah, we’ve got to get rid of all of it’. I think they would gladly go back to their time.

    • What’s amazing to me, Elaine, is how people get used to the new stuff so easily. When my currently 97 year-old mother was a little girl, there were still horse-drawn wagons on the streets of the NYC where she grew up, delivering ice and coal and produce, etc. Now she’s like “How would we live without air-conditioning?!”.

People older than myself who, like myself have used landlines all of their life, now insist on texting me a picture, and I have to explain to them that I am on a landline, and that won’t work!

      • Nun—That is amazing. I forget what some of the very elderly have seen in their lifetime. Congratulations to your mother, definitely a long and memorable life. I bet she can tell some interesting stories.
You are correct, we have gotten so used to all these conveniences, we think we can’t live without them. I do not want to live without AC either. And, why should we have to? I read an article a while back, or maybe someone commented on here about oil being a renewable resource and it is. It’s not a ‘fossil fuel’.
I have to laugh at some of the older people and technology. I’m right there on the edge myself, one of these days I will probably do the same thing as them.

  15. This is a very important point. California is going to HAVE to start taking punitive measures against owners of gas cars in order to force people into EVs. Like Cuba (another communist jurisdiction) cars in California don’t rot out and can last almost forever if the owner keeps repairing them. It’s not like Michigan or NY where you can guarantee that a car will be rotted to the point where it must be scrapped withing about 15 years or so.

So they’re going to have to make it legally difficult and practically very costly to try to keep operating an ICE car, because millions of Californians are going to do just that.

Since there’s no way in hell they are going to be able to generate all the electric power for everyone who has an ICE car to replace it with an EV, either willingly or under compulsion, the upshot is that they are effectively going to ban personal transportation and force everybody into public transportation, which will also be insufficient by 2035.

It is literally going to be like Maoist China, where everyone rides a bicycle except the Party members.

    • One word: fuel.
The most effective way to end use of IC vehicles would be to make it next to impossible to fuel them.

      Step 1:
Drive the independent dealers out of business.
This is already happening. Independent Chevron dealer of my acquaintance tells me Chevron sells gasoline at company stations for less than they charge him for the same product.

      Step 2:
Create ever more onerous “clean air” regs for petrol stations, with which it will be nearly impossible to comply. Already well underway. Stay tuned for further developments…

      Step 3:
Reduce the number of company owned stations, based on “profitability.”

      Result:
      No fuel, no go.

Time to install a 100 gallon reserve tank in the five foot bed of your late model “pickup truck.”
      Amazing range extender, that.

      Just sayin’…

  16. So many good comments. I am so sick of hearing the ‘sky is falling, the sky is falling’. How many, many predictions through the years have not come true? I enjoy watching nature shows because not much else on worth watching. I am tired though of David Attenborough telling me how fragile the earth is and it’s my fault that there is a small quarter inch insect almost extinct because of me and the rest of humanity. And yet he flies all over the world to do these nature shows and doesn’t have the decency to go on and die. If he would go ahead and die, he possibly could save one cricket—-he needs to think about that. My ‘carbon footprint’ is so small it’s nonexistent. Yes, we are to be good stewards of our environment and I think for the most part we are—maybe too much. From what I read China and India are the worst polluters but they are forging ahead and no one says a word about them.
We have been bullied for years on so many issues, guns, environment, safety, recently Covid/masking, but I think the EV thing/rationing may be the straws that break the camel’s back. People have been pushed and pushed to the breaking point. Around here, everyone put on the mask and a lot of people believed—aaahhhh, ‘we’re all going to die’, well we didn’t and people have noticed. True Covid believers are even pushing back against the EV trend. People are laughing at the stupidity and more importantly angry. Our cars are like our guns, it will be very hard for the government to get them without a fight—-especially in some locations. There is always a way around the government—-always.

    • Hi Elaine,

I agree with you regarding the Chicken Little syndrome that pertains to everything we do. I disregard the potential of 2030, because if one of the conspiracy theories is to ring true most of the devout Covidians will have keeled over from the jab by then and the rest of the us won’t have to worry about a carbon footprint and will continue to drive our ICE autos all over the place. Maybe even start a few independent car companies along the way. I don’t believe the V-16 Cadillac had a formidable run since the 1930s. Hell let’s bring it back.

  17. The comrades of CA. have even more ‘wonderful’ diktats coming even sooner, to ‘keep them safe’. Starting January, ANY vehicle over 14K GWV, including motorhomes will now be required to submit to TWICE YEARLY emissions inspections, and beginning in 2027 that will increase to 4x a year! Also, beginning in January, there will be random “DUI roadblock”-style emission tests- and it’s not just for CA. residents, but even out-of-state vehicles will be subject to them- and if your out-of-state vehicle “does not comply” you can get a 3-day permit to allow you time to get out of CA!

Sorry, but anyone who remains in that communist hell-hole deserves what they get! (((Sorry, Douglas L. Self…)))- It’s scary to think that that can still be considered America. Even by the diminished disgustingly low standards of what the rest of the country has become, that is still egregious! To think that there is such a place where 10’s of millions of ‘Americans’ (Well..probably more Mexicans and Chinks these days) would tolerate such lunacy- and even cheer it on…..

Just another sign of how screwed we are, and how we’d better be shopping around for a little island somewhere outside the bounds of this reich if we hope to live out our remaining years with any degree of autonomy and liberty, because that prospect is becoming extinct here.

  18. When I built my house new in 2014, it came with the Smart Thermostats. Even back then I knew that I didn’t want the electric company deciding where I set the temperature or even when. I had the smart thermos removed right away.

Now I read about places like Colorado where they have been making people miserable. Screw that noise.

    • Excel Energy has a program where you give them control over the thermostat and you get a rebate on your bill. Not worth it really, but they’re preying on people who don’t think.

I use Ecobee thermostats but I bought them outright and so I have complete control over them. I find they’re useful if you have a fairly strict schedule, and it is nice to preheat the house (if I remember) when traveling. A lot of the “eco” functions are lost on me becuase all they seem to do is just slowly lower the temperature until you notice and manually push it back up again.

  19. As long as I can start my trusty Husqvarna saw my house and shop will be plenty warm….Fuck these assholes….I am sick to death of these dimwits.

  20. At some point the laws of nature and physics will smack the likes of the hairspray führer square in the face whether they like it or not wheterh they beleive itnis possible or not . At some point people will lose all sense of law and order and do whatever they please. This is rapidly becoming the case in many California cities currently. Law and order will become unenforceable. The surrender to (representative government) was based on trust and faith in a system because it seemed like it worked, once that is gone there is no ability to enforce anything. The snake appears to have almost totally eaten itself

    • Sicilian,
I agree. There will come a point wherein compliance gains you no benefit. So why bother with it? We are always doing cost/benefit analysis. Even the most stupid among us. From what tooth paste we use on up. “Law and order will become unenforceable.” Given the “laws” we have, and the methods of “enforcement”, I would not consider that a bad thing. There is only one valid secular law. Thou shalt not steal. Whether that be theft of life, liberty, wellbeing, or property. All others are tyranny.
There is only one validation for a SWAT raid. A hostage situation. Now they are used to serve warrants. To kick down a door because “they might flush their drugs”, which shouldn’t be illegal anyway.

    • It’s already happening, even to regular Joe’s. A person I know just bought a RV trailer, and they bought it from a private party. I said, ‘how much tax are you going to have to pay to register it?’. They said, none, I won’t be registering it, just using an old tag, no one registers stuff here anymore.

      • ChrisIN:
Yes, I’m seeing “law abiding citizens” who would never dream of not sitting up straight at the table and chewing their food with mouths closed sidestepping all sorts of BS codes and statutes. The amount of people who have zero fear or respect for “the law” whatever that means has increased by a lot. I don’t think the likes of the hairspray führer and others have any clue how little control they the podium puppets actually have. There have been (no-go zones) for police in major cities for decades. Currently police in Louisville KY respond only to the most violent crimes like murder rape. Property crimes and out in the open drug deals are totally ignored. (Stay strapped, get a good fence and a dog) Its getting to the point that your average suburban cubicle slave just isn’t even going to pay the fines or pay any attention to laws that they don’t feel morally obligated to follow. If the police show up on their doorstep they won’t answer and will just sandbag the impotent bureau-rats to the point of any enforcement at all will look like coincidence.

        • So I dug a little further, and they don’t register their cars either.
“my truck hasn’t been registered in 3 years, my car 5, haven’t had a problem, don’t care if I do, lots of people around here do the same”

          • Hi Chris,

I’ve begin the process myself as well. Stopped paying the “registration” extortions about four years ago. It’s “only” about $50 annually… but I have already saved myself a couple hundred bucks, which I put toward things I need, such as food. I won’t pay a cent for “health coverage” and have saved a fortune that way. If I could figure out way to avoid the “property tax” – i.e., the extortion I am expected to pay in order to not be evicted from the house I paid the seller for years ago – I could live pretty well on very little income.

I have begun to really hate these stupid, evil parasites. These human cockroaches.

  21. “The cost of gas would need to quadruple”
Or more. Considering the utter lack of any longevity in EVs.
Your right. The intent is not to get you into an EV. The complete absence of any attempt to increase generating and grid capacity proves it. It can’t keep up with air conditioning, And nothing is even done about that.
I’ve long theorized that the reason for the increase in longevity, which is declining now, is more attributable to heating and air conditioning than to medical advancement. Who dies first when it gets really hot or cold? Old people.
They want you controlled, absolutely. And it’s much easier if you are stationary.

    • John Kable: “I’ve long theorized that the reason for the increase in longevity, which is declining now, is more attributable to heating and air conditioning than to medical advancement.”

      That and indoor plumbing.

  22. I’m going to ask my state senator (who goes to the same church) to introduce legislation to prohibit people who move to Alabama from voting in state elections for 4 years (minimum).

God forbid we turn into those fools because those fools who come here uninvited vote.

  23. The top photo is disorienting: the giant C A L I F O R N I A letters used to be located in front of Disney California Adventure in Anaheim. But that scene ain’t DCA.

Turns out Disney donated the giant letters to Cal Expo in Sacramento, where Gavin the Good is dispensing his worldly wisdom in his stylish silver bear shirt, as some masked idiot stands next to him.

It’s all show biz, folks. And in real life, Mickey Mouse is just a filthy sewer rat, scuttling behind a garbage can.

  24. Coincidentally, I was reading an article on Eugyppius’ substack entitled:

The Terrifying Vacuity of Klaus Schwab

    https://www.eugyppius.com/p/the-terrifying-vacuity-of-klaus-schwab

I highly recommend reading it. It is not pay-walled. It is a thorough deconstruction of Schwab, his “Great Reset” and (by association) the primary goals of the WEF. The entire thesis put together by Schwab is poorly written, absolutely idiotic and pointless.

For a good example, directly related to the absolutely fucken stupid and equally pointless EV mania, he points out:

“Schwab is disappointed by projections that the Spring 2020 restrictions would reduce carbon emissions by only 8%:

“Considering the severity of the lockdowns, [that] figure looks rather disappointing. It seems to suggest that small individual actions … are of little significance when compared to the size of emissions generated by electrictiy, agriculture and industry … Even unprecedented and draconian lockdowns with a third of the world population confined to their homes for more than a month came nowhere near to being a viable decarbonization strategy because, even so, the world economy kept emitting large amounts of carbon dioxide … (p. 140f.)”

Again, one is just struck over and over by Schwab’s apparent ignorance and naiveté, even on subjects at the centre of his expertise. People have long demonstrated that curbs on individual consumption, particularly in the West, will have very limited effects on environmental outcomes. Most emissions come from overseas manufacturing.”

All these green lunatics like Newsome, AOC & Co., are following this thesis that has no intellectual consistency/validity never mind any amount of scientific basis.

And we’re going to pay the price for it. All that shit will absolutely fail and result in nothing better than huge problems for our economy and society. It’s absolute insanity and stands zero chance of success.

    • EM,
Europe IS paying the price for it, and the price is rapidly rising. Freeze in the dark to stop global warming?
And of course the Russia Bad thing. Even though US/NATO has killed more than ten times as many people in foreign lands in the last 30 years. And created millions of starving refugees as well.

      • Hi John,

The Swiss have just imposed a “Thermostat Max” of about 60 degrees… that stuff is coming here, too. I have four cords of wood stacked and ready, so as to maintain 75 when it’s 18 out!

        • Hi Eric,
I’ve heard rumblings about that here too, the utilities are giving away “smart” thermostats with the promise of “energy savings”. Right. You’ll save lots of energy when their smart meter cuts off your power when you exceed your allotted usage, comrade. None of that “connected” crapola in my house, though I still think rationing is coming, dressed up as doing your patriotic duty to save the world from “climate change”. What a crock.

          • When I see new build houses that have electric everything and smart appliances I cringe a little on the inside. Anything with wireless connectivity can and mostly likely will be hacked at some point. Any infrastructure reliant on a behemoth centralized system is filled with opportunity for failure more so as time goes on. Personally heat with propane, backup Gen-set for critical stuff and a small wood stove I’ve yet to set up and pipe out. I feel grossly under prepared but am miles ahead of most people I know.

            • Hi Sicilian,

You’re way ahead if you already have multiple/redundant ways to heat (and cook). My house has a heat pump. I almost never use it. I use the propane fireplace and a wood-burning stove. The latter is closed-loop self-sufficient in that I have plenty of wood in my woods to keep it burning all winter long. Thus, if the propane truck doesn’t show up – or costs too much – I’m okay. I can also cook on the woods stove and – in a pinch – could use it to hear water to wash clothes, too.

              • Eric,
It only takes about 6 acres of woods to heat a house, depending upon its size and build quality. I used to have about 20, and only ever cut dead trees, heating with wood exclusively
Here’s a thing the greens don’t want you to know. Burning wood is carbon neutral. The carbon it creates was only recently, in the last 20-50 years, or less, incorporated by the tree you burn. If it’s dead, it’s already being released.

            • Sicilian,
Way back in the early 70s when we had another artificial energy crisis, I was a plumber, building new houses. The local natural gas supplier stopped offering new gas taps. Every thing went full electric. Which means they had to tighten up the houses. Which means your fire place wouldn’t work, the flu wouldn’t draw, because there was no combustible air coming into the house. Which means you were getting near zero fresh air.
You may be “grossly” unprepared, but then again one can never be prepared for every possibility. You might be surprise how quickly you can get that wood stove up and running.
A quote I can’t attribute, “you will be amazed what you can do if you have no choice”.

          • Mike,
So if I get this right, we freeze in the dark to stop global warming?
Relatively cheap and abundant energy gave us the most prosperous lives in history. For all of us. The subject has come up here before. Their privilege is diminished by the “useless eaters” having similar privilege. They want us driven down to more effectively demonstrate the level of their privilege. What use to show off your Mercedes if the unwashed have Camrys that aren’t much different?

          • The problem is thermostats, yes. However, you probably have a “Smart” meter on your house. We go one whether we wanted it or not thanks to Duke Energy. You either took it or didn’t get any electricity. Local laws then add that a dwelling without electricity cannot be lived in and hence, does not a Certificate of Occupancy.

GovCo: Where evil people with authoritarian tendencies find a permanent job.

        • Eric,
In my younger days, when I heated with wood exclusively, we often opened the front door to cool the house off in the dead of winter. In a near 100 year old house. Even then, the efficiency of wood stoves was exceptional. In the 16 year old house which my son now lives in there is a wood stove with a window in the door. Once brought up to operating temperature, the wood fire burns with a blue flame. Just like a gas heater. It easily heated 1800 square feet to 80 at 10 below, dropping down to about 60 in the morning, and back up to 80 in about an hour or so.
