Clover Parking Ticket

In Nanaimo, Canada, Tara Ludvigson-Hill thought someone was playing a joke on her when she received an $81 ticket for parking her car with the windows rolled down. When Ludvigson-Hill parked at her workplace on a hot day, she left her windows open and thought nothing of it. She told the Nanaimo Daily News, “I’ve been parking in the same spot for years and when the weather is hot, I leave my windows open. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous.” The citation was issued for violation of Section 191 subsection 2 of the British Columbia Motor Vehicle Act which states that parked vehicles must be secured. Like many others, Ludvigson-Hill was not aware of the law. The officer told her that ignorance of the law was not an excuse, but eventually gave her a warning and no fine was issued.

  1. Back when I lived in an apartment I was doing some work on my ’73 and I left a couple tools on the passenger side floor. Nothing worth squat. A couple craftsman wrenches and sockets or something like that. Might get $5 for them used if that. Got a warning from the local pd on the car for their potential crime spotter thing to put the tools away. Really? I wasn’t living in the ghetto any more. No wandering crack heads looking for $5 thefts that take effort. Even if there were my neighbors had far better to steal with the same effort.

      • LOL. I’m reminded once again of a friend of mine who was once a pizza delivery man. He always kept a small gun holstered and concealed just above his boot in case of “emergencies”. While on one late delivery the purported “customer” grabbed the pizza and took off like a bat out of hell. My buddy drew the gun and fired up in the air shouting “You better run you son of a bitch!” to which the perp zigged and zagged like a MOFO. My friend told me that if the bastard was willing to risk a bullet for a damn pizza then he could have it.
