Mike Riggs|Reason Magazine:

While preparing his recently deceased wife’s body for transporation to a funeral home, an elderly man in Vernal, Utah says that city’s police arrived at his house to confiscate Barbara Mahaffey’s pain medications, which she had taken while dying of colon cancer. Eighty-year-old Ben Mahaffey is now suing Vernal. The Deseret News reports:

Barbara Alice Mahaffey died of colon cancer in her bedroom last May. Ben D. Mahaffey, 80, said he was distraught and trying to make sure his wife’s body would be taken to the funeral home with dignity, when he says officers insisted he help them look for the drugs.

“I was holding her hand saying goodbye when all the intrusion happened,” he told the Deseret News.

Barbara Mahaffey died at 12:35 a.m. with Mahaffey, a Navy medic in the Korean War, and his friend, an EMT, at her side. In addition to police, a mortician and a hospice worker arrived at the home about 12:45 a.m., Mahaffey said. He said he doesn’t know how police came to be there.

Mahaffey said he was treated as if he were going to sell the painkillers, which included OxyContin, oxycodone and morphine, on the street.

In his suit, Mahaffey alleges that Vernal City Manager Ken Bassett told Mahaffey he was being “‘overly sensitive’ and that police were just trying to protect the public from illegal use of prescription drugs.” The suit also alleges that Bassett then told Mahaffey “his own parents had recently died and he wouldn’t have cared had police searched their house for drugs.” Vernal has yet to comment on the lawsuit. Mahaffey’s lawyer says that the pseudo-raid on the elderly couple’s home is “common practice for Vernal police when someone dies, but that it’s selectively applied.”

  1. Keith Ratliff, weapons enthusiast, 3rd most popular YouTube channel FPS Russia creator, was found tied up and murdered with a single shot to the head in Georgia. There was no robbery or other motive evident.

He Believed All Americans Should Have Access to Military Weapons. He posted videos of himself firing homemade machine guns, large mortars, flying a quadrotor with attached machine gun, driving a tank to White Castle.

    • He was iced for putting “ideas” into peoples heads. That’s some crazy shit, though. The hovering quad-rotor with machine gun is something I’m more than certain our “police” are praying to use upon the rest of us all the while crying about “officer safety”. The war is on Mr. Munkov. Question only how fast will it take for people to glom onto that fact.

      • Those drones are a two-way street though, just like guns. And they’re cheap.

I can immediately think of five really super-nifty uses for them.

        Can you?

        🙂

One of worst tricks of the state is to “legalize” something when really it’s only a few Oligarchs approved to sell the “legalized contraban” at a huge markup.

You can buy whiskey, tobacco, weapons, but only at high markups. Its extremely difficult to make your own, or to avoid being a mere consumer who’s powerless to innovate must always get everything from the all mighty “dealer.” for every part.

Take India & Tasmania and painkillers for example. That’s pretty much the only areas where most of strong painkilling components are legal to grow for export. If you live in those areas, you can “legally” grow and synthesize your own besides for export. Everywhere else you pay huge markups and have to get permission to buy them. The sellers of painkillers all have to get permission as well. It’s a total ripoff and leaves countless people in unnecessary pain.

China, Japan, Korea, and a few other places grow for local use only, but don’t try to sell to the world at large. They would need CIA & International Agency permission to do that.

    • That one smells more and more like an Arkancide case.
The only missing ingredient is the claim that it was accidental death during erotic auto-asphyxiation; but they reserve that one as a final embarrassment for politicians who’ve gone off the reservation.

We are run by a psychopathic mafia.

        • Yeah…I’m going to create an account on the whitehouse website to sign one of these worthless petitions because I know that they would never use this info for data mining or other investigative purposes. All these dumbasses who sign these things thinking they’re going to change things are delusional. If you read the rules, all the WH has to do is respond to the petition once it reaches the required number of signatures.

A response is as simple as this…NO! And with that one word response, the petition is addressed and discarded.

Now do you think that if/when SHTF that these people who signed petitions to secede from US or impeach obama haven’t given the gov’t everything they need to locate, round ’em up, and disappear them, I would like to sell you my controlling interest in the Brooklyn Bridge.

          • Turd–

Of course they’re ineffective–at least in terms of affecting the Mafia in DC.

But they do attract attention–and we’ve been woefully outmatched with polling games. A recent poll showed “a majority of Americans favor gun control.” How the fuck did they arrive at that, when all I hear is the opposite? They’re rigged, that’s how.

Those petitions are another way of getting alternate views out.

And so what if they mark you? Fuck them, and the horses they’ll ride in on. Come and take it!

I’m DONE playing dead. We need to be aggressive.

Besides–do you think you’re not already on a list? Just being on this site is probably a huge tip-off.

We have to go ALL IN, total commitment. Put your John Hancock on it; think about that one for a moment–he signed in bold, legible font his name on a totally treasonous document sent to the head of the largest military in the world!

Let’s do the same. It doesn’t MATTER if you’re “on a list” or not. If these people take over, they’ll get you eventually list or not.

          • C’mon, Turd–are you really afraid of that being the trigger?

Remember what Solzhenitsyn said about “…how we burned in the camps…”

Get out there and yell loudly in every way possible.

They’re going to round us up anyway if they win. Now’s not the time to be silent.

Maybe IF they win–THEN is the time to go silent and join the underground quietly.

But not now. We could still beat them peacefully…if we get our heads out of the sand, and confront them.

          • You make some valid points, you can never be too cynical, really. Nearly everything the state claims is for one purpose, is actually for a different purpose.

It was a case of quid pro quo. I gave up a traceable email that my wife monitors, for two reasons.

The first reason is Eric, Dom, Meth, others were doing it, and I trust their judgment. Sometimes TPTB get arrogant, and provide an opportunity for the truth to be heard.

The second reason is, a Whitehouse petition presents an opportunity to discuss things with the “Matrix dwellers” in my life, in a format they can understand. Women who are happy watching Reality TV & ABC Family dramas, aren’t going to take the Red Pill anytime soon.

            matrix (n.)
late 14c., “uterus, womb,” from Old French matrice “womb, uterus,” from Latin matrix (genitive matricis) “pregnant animal,” in Late Latin “womb,” also “source, origin,” from mater (genitive matris) “mother” (see mother (n.1)). Sense of “place or medium where something is developed” is first recorded 1550s; sense of “embedding or enclosing mass” first recorded 1640s. Logical sense of “array of possible combinations of truth-values” is attested from 1914.

  2. Damn them all to hell. Another one of those “If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear” kind of robotic comments from the uber-menschen, eh? If the old man wonders who “tipped” these goons off he need look no further than the EMT or hospice people if they have any association with the hospital. Any social workers are also to be viewed with the utmost suspicion as they follow the states “diktats” and will rat you out just to look good. That they haven’t the decency to leave a grieving man alone is typical. You’re just cattle on the farm to them so what the hell does “livestock” have anything to complain about! So what country did he defend while in the Korean War? Because the one, whose flag he served under, sure as hell must have been the old Soviet Union.
