Feds slash tires after woman refuses to consent to vehicle search

While the Obama administration allows tens of thousands of violent illegal immigrants to go free in the United States without deportation every year, an American woman and her two children were terrorized by Border Patrol agents who threatened to taser her if she did not consent to a search of her vehicle before slashing her tires.

The video clip above, posted by the ACLU, describes the experience of Clarisa Christiansen, who has lived in the Sierrita Mountains near Tucson, Arizona for 18 years with her family, which now includes her 5-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter.

While driving in the middle of nowhere, Christiansen was pulled over by Border Patrol agents who demanded she step out so they could perform a search of the vehicle. Christiansen’s demands to know why she was pulled over fell on deaf ears as agents continued to insist she exit the vehicle.

“Then he comes up to my seatbelt, pulls out a knife and says, “Ma’am, do I need to cut you out of your seatbelt?” and I was like, “No, you don’t need to do anything like that.” I was like, “All you need to do is tell me why you pulled me over, you know? This is ridiculous. I got 2 young kids in the car,” said Christiansen.

“Then he took the keys from my ignition and I was forced to get out of my vehicle. If I didn’t get out of the vehicle, I felt like this man that was threatening to tase me and cut me out of my seatbelt was going to hurt me. I told my kids to stay where they were, because they were like, “Mommy, what’s going on? Where are you going?” and I was like, “Just stay where you are and just watch.”

The video does not explain whether or not Christiansen eventually consented to the search of her vehicle, although it does add that Border Patrol agents deliberately slashed her tire with a knife, presumably as a form of retaliation against the fact that Christiansen did not immediately comply with their demands.

“They slashed my tire. It was a pretty obvious slash, straight cut on the side wall. They just seem to think they can do whatever they want and bully everybody around. It’s just not right. It’s just not right. They scared me. They scared my kids. They changed my view on basically the way I look at them now,” states Christiansen.

Some would consider Christiansen lucky in that she was not forced to undergo a humiliating anal cavity search, a fate inflicted upon numerous other American citizens by Border Patrol agents in recent months.

While Americans are increasingly finding themselves on the receiving end of Border Patrol harassment, actual illegal aliens are being treated better than ever before. A recent report by the Center for Immigration Studies found that the Obama administration, “Has allowed tens-of-thousands of violent illegal aliens to go free inside the United States and without deportation,” with 68,000 released in 2013.

The Department of Homeland Security now considers any area within a 100 mile radius of the entire US border to be what the ACLU has described as a “constitution free zone,” where 4th amendment legal protection from unconstitutional searches and seizures does not apply.

  1. @Jason re: retirement – and also the economic understanding was such that older men (mostly) who had jobs were being encouraged to give them up so that younger one, with families, could have them. They never thought of ‘baking a bigger pie.’ Much less of blaming the actions of the Federal Reserve in the 1920’s for the Depression of the 1930’s.

  2. Perhaps it is time to revoke our memberships in Club USA.

If they treat non-members better than members, which is the best course to take?

All the gov’t freebies………. AND no hassles on the road?

    Sounds like a winning idea.

    • I’m tellin’ ya, Linda. The last two times I left the country, I didn’t want to come back. Forget the freebies here, if I ever go a third time, I think that’ll be the charm and I’ll find some way to stay there.

Not to say I hadn’t considered your idea.
Heh, it could be cool fun, especially if a group, or thousands of people did it together.

I wonder if the Boomer generation considers that to be retirement Plan F if the “work til I drop” plan doesn’t pan out, and the “sell everything” plan falls short?

It sure beats Plan G: committing a crime and being sent to jail so the state pays for medical costs and puts a roof over their heads and three squares on their plate each day.
[Insert story about East Coast cop doing just that, here x.]

      • I have friends who have seen the writing on the wall and opted out of living in the U.S., some in South America, some Canada, some in Europe, some even in Israel.

Nothing wrong with continuing to work and be productive, by the way. I’m of “retirement age” but still working, in business for myself, and I plan to continue. I refuse to accept Social Security (I’m not particularly interested in money stolen from my neighbors by armed thugs), but can make a comfortable living working part time. There is also something to be said for keeping active. (Hey, nowhere is it written in stone that we get a 20-30 year vacation towards the end.)

For those contemplating “Plan G,” I would recommend committing a crime that will land you in a minimum-security federal prison. Much better conditions than the typical state pen. (Have not been there myself, but I have friends who have been to both types of vacation spots. The feds win hands down, probably because that’s where they themselves wind up when caught with their hands in the cookie jar.)

          • “Ha. I never thought about it like that. You’re probably right.”

Actually, I got that from a friend who spent time in a “club Fed” for taxes some years ago. The clientele included crooked prosecutors, politicians, tax accountants, lawyers, etc. So yes, I do believe there’s an element of truth to it!

As to retirement, I’ve met people who were working and productive well into their 80s, even 90s. Overall they seem to do better than many who retire. The 65-year retirement age is largely a relic from a time when the average life expectancy was less than that.
