Clover Videos, Clover Cam, Clover Stickers…

You may have noticed I’ve begun posting short videos displaying Cloverism en flagrante delicto – the idea being that a picture (or video) is worth the proverbial 1,000 words.dancing Clover

What we’d really like is for you to also film Clovers in action  – and submit your videos for publication here.  Cloverism abides; it is all around us. Let’s show the world – and shame Clover (if such a thing is even possible). Minimally, it’ll make us all feel a little better – and it may call attention to a problem that’s far more of an existential threat to America than ISIS.

We are also considering Clover stickers.

Artwork is being worked on at this very moment – and the idea is we’ll give anyone who tosses us a minimum donation of $10 a free sticker. You’ll get something additional in return for supporting EPautos’ efforts to de-Cloverize the country!

In the meantime, here’s a video of my V1 sussing out a porker. If you don’t yet own a V1 I strongly recommend buying one. Not because Valentine 1 is an advertiser. But because the V1 is a lifesaver. I personally recommend it – as someone who personally uses one.

Never leave home without it!

I’d also like to take a moment to thank Brent P. And Harry for their recent editorial contributions to EPautos. I’d love to publish more such. From anyone who is willing – and able – to write (about anything). It would ease my workload – and it would add to EPautos’ editorial diversity (ok, feel free to kick me for having used that word).

  1. One way to look at things is each donor to this site is supporting X unpaid users here. It might be of interest to know how many contributors each is carrying. Also of interest, is how many Eric is supporting. This might be only for the donors to know, or for all to know.

Let’s say 700 donors are each supporting 100 unpaid users on average. And Eric is supporting 30,000 viewers on his own.

I know that when Wikipedia is fundraising, the site opens a banner at the top of the page with its pitch. You can leave it and scroll down, it’s usually twice the size of the usual banner you’d find in smaller sites. Or it takes a second or two to find the X and continue using the resource with out paying, if that’s what you’re into.

I would think, since most here understand and cherish the automotive world. You could take this same appreciation and apply it to the online world. Perhaps you despise computers personally. Still, that shouldn’t be a barrier to understanding what it means to others.

Though the older you are, the less the internet means. I think its fairly easy for an older person to appreciate it’s the “vehicle” of imagination and thought for younger generations. And so it is important to preserve it, and not let it be disassembled and stripped down, just the same as it is important to preserve the rights of automobile and motorcycle aficionados.

Should you contribute to wikipedia, they give a pretty decent appreciative response.

Dear Contributor, Thank you for donating to the Wikimedia Foundation. You are wonderful! It’s easy to ignore our fundraising banners, and I’m really glad you didn’t. This is how Wikipedia pays its bills — people like you giving us money, so we can keep the site freely available for everyone around the world.

People tell me they donate to Wikipedia because they find it useful, and they trust it because even though it’s not perfect, they know it’s written for them. Wikipedia isn’t meant to advance somebody’s PR agenda or push a particular ideology, or to persuade you to believe something that’s not true.

We aim to tell the truth, and we can do that because of you. The fact that you fund the site keeps us independent and able to deliver what you need and want from Wikipedia. Exactly as it should be.

You should know: your donation isn’t just covering your own costs. The average donor is paying for his or her own use of Wikipedia, plus the costs of hundreds of other people. Your donation keeps Wikipedia available for an ambitious kid in Bangalore who’s teaching herself computer programming. A middle-aged homemaker in Vienna who’s just been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. A novelist researching 1850s Britain. A 10-year-old in San Salvador who’s just discovered Carl Sagan.

On behalf of those people, and the half-billion other readers of Wikipedia and its sister sites and projects, I thank you for joining us in our effort to make the sum of all human knowledge available for everyone. Your donation makes the world a better place. Thank you.

Most people don’t know Wikipedia’s run by a non-profit. Please consider sharing this e-mail with a few of your friends to encourage them to donate too. And if you’re interested, you should try adding some new information to Wikipedia. If you see a typo or other small mistake, please fix it, and if you find something missing, please add it. There are resources here that can help you get started. Don’t worry about making a mistake: that’s normal when people first start editing and if it happens, other Wikipedians will be happy to fix it for you.

I appreciate your trust in us, and I promise you we’ll use your money well.

    Thanks,
    Sue

    • In light of what you’ve told us about Wiki articles being deleted and rewritten en-mass’e recently, without massive support to the contrary, I find this to be kind of bizarre:

“People tell me they donate to Wikipedia because they find it useful, and they trust it because even though it’s not perfect, they know it’s written for them. Wikipedia isn’t meant to advance somebody’s PR agenda or push a particular ideology, or to persuade you to believe something that’s not true.

We aim to tell the truth, and we can do that because of you. The fact that you fund the site keeps us independent”

To me, that’s All the more reason to fund sites like EPA. Rather than them.

      “keeps us independent”

“We aim to tell the truth”

“Wikipedia isn’t meant to advance somebody’s PR agenda or push a particular ideology, or to persuade you to believe something that’s not true.”

Oh no. They’d Never do That!

      Yeah, right.

That’s why I like EPA, they’re the opposite of all that, heh,… for the most part.

      I get your point, though.

Anyway, Tor mentioned: “It might be of interest to know how many contributors each is carrying.”

Hell, I ain’t “carrying” anyone else, every Buck I gave hardly covers the bandwidth I’ve wasted with my comments and those comments awaiting moderation, the guys hardly break even with the Dollar(s) I sent. …I’m lucky they don’t send Me a bill!
Oh wait. I guess that makes me one of those, “how many contributors each is carrying.” …Crap. I suddenly feel like a freeloader.

But I’ll give this, maybe it pays for someone, somewhere: (OT) you guys have all seen this, right? …Just to know,… just to know why you shouldn’t let freakazoids in white lab coats jab children (or adults) with the sharp pointy poison sticks known as needles:

      Breaking—CDC whistleblower: “I’ve stopped lying.”

      • My Main Man Helot,

You can sign up for wikipedia. You can add to the article on LewRockwell. You can create and then defend from deletion, your own article on EPautos if you wish.

You can pick a username and password and start bookmarking Eric’s articles on reddit. I hope someone does all these things. Someone younger and better able to navigate the learning curves involved at a good rate of speed.

Wikipedia makes the same argument Eric uses here. And I think it has merit:

“Wikipedia isn’t meant to” … be used for this that or the other nefarious thing

Eric says he doesn’t mean to do anything nefarious either. I think he knows himself. And I’m inclined to believe the things he says.

In my case, I meet reddit’s definition of a spammer. We know what Eric thinks about spammers. So where does that leave me?

Websites like EPautos and reddit are vehicles of commerce. At some point, some users become too negative to allow to participate. Some of these types are memory-holed by automated with spam algorithms. Some of it is manual and performed by IT and site employees and owners. Eric doesn’t know what happened at google. I don’t know what happened reddit.

Perhaps these two things are apples and oranges and I am being an incoherent spammer. Really for me, this is the deal breaker. I can tolerate a little spam, if it at least make sense. Not qwertyuiop gobbledy gook spam script macros gone wild viggledyjigglezigzog.

Perhaps I’m Pledging A Fraternity That Doesn’t Accept The Real Me
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdFLPn30dvQ

If that’s the case, it doesn’t seem like the best use of my time and effort. Especially if its doing more harm than good to others I consider important.

Why tell someone who doesn’t really like you that they need way more Heinlein here for instance. Why continue to post to reddit when the python script freezes you out from everyone else.

It probably won’t be productive, because there’s that disconnect between who you really are, and the avatar you occupy online, because there is a limited range of behaviors people will accept from you.

Especially there’s an unsolveable inequality. When you’re an avatar that’s sometimes serious. Sometimes fantastical. Sometimes cryptic. Sometimes something that has no adjective.

Perhaps everything has to be a war. I’m loathe to believe it myself. Why can’t i be a real avatar online. A false joking avatar online. A real named user with a real business online. A real man with a family and watchful eyes online.
ALL AT ONE AND THE SAME TIME. And with only minimal explanations and apologies.

Cognitive dissonance is no joke. I tell myself I post here regardless of responses. But then I find I like it when someone mentions they appreciate my contributions here, I don’t mind hearing that.

But one of the reasons I’m considered a spammer, is because I mainly post from a limited handful of sites. And I don’t engage in as much banter as reddit finds appropriate.

The reason for that is, users downvote my comments. Unless I behave like a shill and tell them what they want to hear. Why would I want to do that?

I don’t. And that’s a big reason why I’m considered a spammer. That’s the reason I’m memory holed and no longer able to promote or post anything on reddit.

I’m more inclined to go Cyber Keyser Soze and press autoselfdestruct for no reason. Than to cry crocodile tears and get allowed to pledge to the fraternity despite my true nature.

I haven’t had many employees that report to me in my life. A few years back I had the only woman who reported me get into hot water and throw me under the bus to save herself. It didn’t help her. But it did call me on the carpet to start throwing the several dozen other employees under the same bus they knew I had the ability to do.

These are two multimillionaire Jews. And you know how Jews love money. Not us, we like to be paid in fireworks. We hate money. But I digress.

I chose not to play their game. I ended up giving them around $11,000 in cash rather than name names of what looked like my employee’s wrongdoing. Rather than play the singing slave game. I left that place. I ticked off and bewildered my wife, because to this day I can’t sing to her about it either, and that’s a very destabilizing thing.

There’s a road to navigate in life. With the road I’m on, the right side ditch that’s easy to fall into is the narcissistic ditch. To overweight things that concern me, to the extent of neglecting more important things.

The left side ditch that’s harder to end up in, is the altruistic ditch. It’s more dangerous because to end up in it involves the risk of driving across oncoming traffic as well.

Eric got online slapped by a faceless user or bot on google. I’ve been deleted and memory holed by a faceless user or bot on reddit.

I know how many comments and vote arrows I got on reddit. Lots of them had to do with this site. But that isn’t considered commerce. So nothing should be expected on my part.

What eric received from google analytics was also somehow different from traditional commerce. They sent him reams of words and procedures to follow. But really, the takeaway for him was. Nothing individually catered should be expected of google on his part.

The internet has become a take it or leave it space. Where things go down memory holes and no one seems to notice. The free market and commerce is obviously the most important thing that is disappeared. My little keyboard tinkles are of no consequence here.

But its still galling. And you notice a small pit of bile for your efforts. A kick in the face really. Eric is money ahead not to do any of this. As am I. As are you and the rest of us. That’s the PTB narrative we are expected to learn.

I hate learning what I’m supposed tho. So we’ll see how far I can go on that theory. I’ve gotten pretty far so far. I’m outta here, and didn’t really check any of this for coherence. Take it easy. Be well my young padawans and old fellow jedis.

    • I dunno what the future holds.

I’d like to be able to make enough to make this a living. But the cold, clammy truth is that – as things stand – if I got a decent offer from a major corporation, I’d be tempted to take it. This pressure is real – and horrible. It stifles independence, makes most of us field niggers. What’s the alternative? It’s a lot to ask to ask a man to work himself into poverty, especially when he has an alternative. I’ll do this as long as I possibly can. But the fact is, it’s difficult to justify and only temporarily possible because of other circumstances – because I was smart or lucky enough to sell our old place before the housing bubble burst – and used the proceeds to buy a house here in the Woods, outright. But there are bills to pay, nonetheless.

It sucks, but one has to deal with such things.

  2. Are we putting the clover videos here now? I had a video waiting for approval on clovercam in March, but it was never uploaded. I wasn’t sure what was going on. I do have a video or two I’m waiting to show everyone though.

      • Hey Dom, I removed it after a little while because I just didn’t want it sitting there. Seemed like the site was abandoned for a point there.

I will add it again soon.

I do think the videos would get more traffic if they were in a section here, but I understand that is easier said than done.

        • It was sort of abandoned. While I was just in there looking around I noticed there are 30,000 post in the moderation queue. Not sure how that happened. I just noticed on this site we’re about to reach 1.5 million spam posts. Please let me know if you upload again and I’ll be sure it gets up.

        • I think we’re gonna try to incorporate Clover cam here – at least, the “feature” video. I’ve been posting such over the past couple of days. Please – keep on filming!

  3. I’d suggest clover stickers that ae meant for a window mount…. Translucent, too. Inwards facing.

When you observe cloverific behavior, you might be able to plaster a well-glued Clover right in the driver’s view, mocking that driver for some time, until they can get it removed (also causing an infraction, which would catch the eye of the local pork.)

Keeps the Clovers off the road, keeps the pigs busy, might even wake up a clover or two… (A man can dream…)
