Here’s a quick look at the 2020 Mercedes GLE450 – also available as the GLE350. But the one you want is the 450, which is the one that comes standard with Benz’s new in-line six!
Yes! Not a V6 (not that there’s anything wrong with that). An in-line six. A magnificent and increasingly rare species of engine. Too long for most FWD-based cars. Too thirsty for ordinary cars.
The Benz has some other interesting newnesses, too – including 48 volt electrics. Stay tuned for more about that!

Well, I’m way ahead I guess …
I’ve got a Jeep Cherokee XJ with the 4.0 straight six engine. It’s got the full time 4wd option which I’ve found to get through snow and mud 99.9% of the time without using 4hi or 4lo.
It’s a bit old and doesn’t talk to me, but at least it doesn’t have those damn ghetto rims and low profile tires.
