Proper Masking?

Here’s the latest reader question, along with my reply!

Rod asks: I am tempted to wear this mask next time I go shopping but I don’t think the Masked Morons out there would understand the point I am trying to make.

My reply: Maybe not – but the rest of us will get it! If you must wear a mask, this is the right one to wear. I myself will not wear any sort of mask, ever. Unless it’s a Nixon mask – and I’m robbing a 7-11 to pay for my surfing habit!

I am not diseased!

  1. I still like my “Plague Doctor” outfit (great for screwing with folks) but it’s getting too hot here in Sac-town to wear the overcoat.

    • The Plague doctor look is uber creepy and thus a perfect choice for these times! I commend you if you wear that while out and about.

  2. Haha Rod! Thanks for this. This is too good of an idea to not steal (sorry). This should be fun. Ordering one now.

  3. I wasn’t going to wear any mask ever, but then I thought about going to costco with some lace, see through lingerie for a mask. Nearest costco is 60 miles from me though. I’d have to borrow a membership card from my in-laws, so I probably wouldn’t pull off the experiment. There are no other mask requirement stores in the area. Yet.

      • Same here. My gym opened up again finally last Friday. I had been trying to maintain strength at home, but it’s not the same.

Good news is, the gym has no restrictions whatsoever. No tape, no masked freaks, no distance enforcement. It’s great! Also, they took the opportunity to make some upgrades to the gym during the forced shut down.

  4. I like the sheep mask. It doesn’t matter if the clueless fail to understand your point: the rational people will get it, and some of them will be emboldened by receiving confirmation that they aren’t alone in questioning the madness.

In a similar vein, I’ve suggested using a Guy Fawkes mask, a great symbol of resistance to oppression. Anyone who has seen “V for Vendetta” will recognize it as a protest.

  5. That’s a funny damned thing. I need one. Definitely a conversation starter. I hope the reader let’s us know how it goes.
