1981 Chevy Citation X-11

With a name that might have been lifted from a 1950s pulp fiction comic book, Chevy’s “performance” version of the front-wheel-drive Citation economy car gets no medals from enthusiast drivers. The X-11 package included “blackout” trim, Goodyear Eagle tires, a “sport” suspension package, decorative “cowl induction” hood scoop, and a “high output” version of GM’s workhorse 2.8 liter V-6 that developed 135 horsepower. It had less power and was slower than most of the straight-six economy cars of ten years earlier, but it sold for roughly twice the price, about $6,800 when new.

I drove one of those once. It was a slug, not much faster than a 4 cylinder with a manual transmission.
