I have the lower receiver, bolt, and upper receiver already.

Still have a few more parts to get.

Trying to think if I want to get this stock.

It's totally tunable.

PRS™ Precision-Adjustable Buttstock – AR15/M16 (5.56 NATO) Model

The MagpulŪ PRS™ (Precision Rifle / Sniper – AR15/M16 Model) is a drop-in, precision-adjustable butt stock for rifles with A1 / A2 fixed stocks. Designed to offer the fine-tuned, customized feel of a precision target stock, the PRS™ is adjustable for both cheek riser height and length-of-pull without sacrificing the durability necessary to withstand the operational environment. Compared to the A2 stock, the PRS™ can shorten the LOP by 0.25” or extend it by 0.75”. Machined aluminum adjustment knobs feature positive-locking click detents to maintain position under recoil and allows easy, tool-less adjustments by simply rotating the knobs. Machined aluminum butt-plate and alloy steel adjustment shaft provide stability and strength to withstand severe impact conditions. Rubber butt-pad offers positive shoulder purchase to prevent slippage for optimal accuracy even with body armor or modular gear. Bottom Picatinny-type rail allows for monopod use, additional sling mounts or storage. Stock includes all mounting hardware for A1 / A2 type rifles with fixed stock.

Thinking about the OD Green, the first one?

Or black?

Some weapons are easier to accessorize. Personally, I prefer a plain old large caliber evolver. Low rate of fire but heavy punch.

Well, I have the .45 pistol for up close. A Mossberg pistol grip shotgun for around the house. Now I'm looking to build something capable of getting some lead down the street.

Yeah, the AR-15 is like the VW bug of the gun world in regard to availability of after market parts.

That be lookin' bad ass!

I need to get a serious combat rifle, too.

I've never been a hunter, so I have never felt the need (up to now). I'm not nearly as proficient with a rifle, either. I'm a decent shot with a handgun because I have been shooting regularly for years but I only rarely shoot a rife and never got especially comfortable with one.

My SKS (7.62x39 mm) is a not-bad piece for home defense and hunting but what you're building totally outclasses it!

Yeah, I want to have something with decent range.

Think I am going to put a 20" barrel on it.

Can't freaking decide if I want to just keep it black, or what.

Estimating the total build to be in the low 1,000s.

I've considered getting an old M1 Garand. Semiauto but it's a .30 caliber and has a lot more punch than the .223 in the AR15. The .223 is designed more to main and injure. The M1 puts them down. I won't neccessarliy aim to kill but if I aim a lethal weapon at somebody, they did something to warrant lethal force. If I ever just waved a weapon around, my dad would probably come up out of the ground and get me. I'll aim to stop someone not kill them but if they die, well, tough titty.

Just did a little reading on that weapon. Seems like a really nice collectors type weapon.

Said the effect range is just shy of 500 yards.

Looks like a fun weapon to shoot.

Buddy hooked me up with this hand guard.

Have a custom target barrel being build now.

Should have it in a couple months.

Going to paint this rail OD Green as well as the scope I purchase.

Got the barrel in the mail this morning.

Custom made heavy weight target barrel.

Shoot. I have not updated this thread in a while.

My boy Ken is the man!

It's almost done. Still trying to decide on a scope..

That looks sweet!

I really need to git me a decent rifle. The SKS I've got now is ok in the sense that it works (most of the time) and it has decent punch, but it's still pretty crude.

But, wife says floors need to be refinished first!

Dude, even though not totally complete it's BAD.

I think it measures out to around 42 inches.

When you hold it the feeling is just amazing.

This is the only thought/words that go through my head when holding it:

Iron Fist

Don't ask me why..

It was a home project and came out nice.

I will get some video when I start firing it.

The goal is consistent 300 yard shots which should be no problem.

Trying to get a scope with a reticle that I like with 3x-9x magnification.

They're expensive, but Nikons have really clear glass. I like them better than the Leo Vari-X.

I've actually been looking at those.

I'm thinking around the $300 range, but still am not sure.

No rush, just wanting for something I like and feels right.

That cat looks lethal! How many rounds does he hold? :D

09-27-2010, 05:12 PM
Let me check the litter box and I'll get back to you!

09-27-2010, 08:18 PM
You got a license for that full-auto cat?

If you ever get the chance, buy some HK mags for your AR. They don't bind up..at all. Unlike the GI mags which bind as soon as the follower gets the teensiest bit out of alignment.

Actually got some magpul mags now.

Just got them in.

It is now scoped.
