Here I am in the shop when I went to the heart of Silicon Valley to buy the bike.

I am totally hooked on the electric motorcycles. I ride these the most of all.

I know I must be a bit nutty, but I now have ten running motorcycles, all insured and registered. Three are electric.

That is certainly a new name for me, Don. A nice, really sporty, looking 'bike.

Nice to know you are still around, it's been quite a time since you last
posted on here. Keep coming back, Don, we need people like you to
keep this forum going.

You have quite a selection of sikkles, I guess you could almost open
your own bike shop. :D

Although it is now four years since I had to give up 'bikes I still get a
buzz when I hear a sports 'bike at full chat or accelerating hard, life
gets a bit boring at times. I guess I would have to actually see an
electric 'bike ridden hard to get the same feeling.

The SuperSport Version of the same make bike is shown here.

A bit too Sporty for me. But I like it's looks even better than mine. But has a very sporty riding position and is super-ridiculously fast. Mine is only ridiculously fast, a lot more speed and power than I will ever use as it is.

I am hooked on the electric bikes. They are the most fun to ride. So much torque that there is no tranny, no clutch as the bike feels no difference riding up hill compared to level ground (but battery drains more). No need to keep the RPMs up on hills.

Range of these bikes on a charge is NOT important as long as there are charge stations on the way. That's the biggest issue, we need more charge stations in the middle of nowhere here in the USA. A half size battery means stop twice as often, but for half the time, so it comes out about the same either way, when there are enough charging stations. But by the end of 2019, the charge stations will double, but still an issue when off the major roads for any distance. But with some planning, an electric bike can go thousands of miles, by slow recharging at RV parks and such.

Many people have gotten the Iron Butt award (1,000 miles <1,600 KM> in 24 hours) on an electric motorcycle. So they can cover quite a distance in some areas, on the bikes that have the Level Three (DC) Charging as do the Energicas.

I did not know that you were no longer riding. What happened? I ride more than ever and I will be 70 years old in one week. I have been retired for 5.5 years and I am having the best time of my life.

Super Sport = 'biking Viagra!

Six years back, at 79, I was doing an Advanced Track Riding Course at Cadwell park.

My 'Advanced' group went out during a 'Novice' session. At Barn a novice ran very
wide, right to the outside of the bend. I was the first of three riders on a tight line
and went for the overtake. The novice realizing he was on the wrong line tried to
correct his position by cutting straight across the track and clipped my front wheel.
I went down but unfortunately the rider behind me had nowhere to go. He ran
over me and his 'bike landed on top of me. Suffice it to say that I ended up in
hospital for three days. When my 'bike was rebuilt I found that, as a result of
the crash, I was no longer comfortable on a Super Sport machine. I ended up
getting a Sports Tourer but it wasn't the same. When I was 82 my night vision
started to degrade and, as most of my club riding finished in the dark, I decided
to call it a day and hung up my leathers.

I still miss riding but I'd only get another 'bike if I were able to a) Ride a Super
Sports machine again and b) If I got my night vision back to normal.

I am kinda the opposite. I like slow riding most of the time. Slow on the mountain roads and such. I kinda ride like a little old lady and often let cars behind me go by. I have never had an interest in super-sport riding. I am much more of a torque freak than a speed freak which explains why I love the electrics so much. I ride my electrics more in a year than my other seven ICE bikes combined. In fact, using the ICE bikes enough is getting to be a problem. I do rotate them as much as I can, but it's so rare that I go on a trip where an ICE bike is required.

The average person in the USA drives around 40 miles per day, well within range of my smallest Electric Motorcycle.

When I used to lead rider groups for the club I often used to lead
what we called the 'Steady Eddies'. Just cruising around fifty mph
or so could be quite relaxing but, basically, I'm just an old adrenaline
junkie and was far happier buzzing around Cadwell Park on track days.
