The new Mustang looks great - though I wonder whether it can survive the ugly new economic realities. I guarantee Challenger is a goner - and I would not put any money on Camaro surviving beyond 2010.
The Mustang has a few things going for it that neither of those two do, however - including an existing and loyal buyer base and a model lineup that continues to appeal to a much broader spectrum of potential buyers. Challenger and Camaro are almost entirely young guys' cars in their essentials - and middle-aged mens' cars in their cost. That makes them "buyable" by a small sliver of the marketplace, even in the best of times.
And these are by far not the best of times....
