It's an excellent suggestion; a great way for GM to stand behind what it sells. Why hasn't it happened? Probably because the beancounters have done the math and figured it would cost GM too much money...Quote:

Like I've mentioned before, I sat in both a Cadillac CTS and Lexus ES at the local autoshow, and the interior quality between them was lightyears apart. The Cadillac had visible seam marks on all the plastic bits -- the Lexus had none. The sound the doors make as they're closed is vastly different, as well. Cadillac goes "bong", the Lexus goes "thump".
These are the kinds of flaws that should never have left the prototype stage.
