    Eric,

Excellent point, I did not think of that. Can you believe I am averaging a little over 16 mpg in around town/city driving? The EPA lists city driving in my 5.7 liter Grand Cherokee at 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway, and combined 15 mpg. It seems my gas mileage has improved since putting 93 octane in it, the engine only has a little over 7K miles on it so its not yet broken in yet. I may get even better mpgs when it's broken in.

    EPA's figures for my vehicle:

    http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/22528.shtml

I think continued breakin is the more likely explanation for the improvement in economy. My VW started getting better between 5K and 8K miles.

Regular is $4.35~$4.45 around here, generally down a couple of cents.

That may be about five cents high right now.

Drove by the most expensive station in town today on the way to work, their posted price was $4.14/gallon for premium. That's down about 20 cents from their highest.

Prices still sagging here also - $3.61 for 87 is the lowest I've seen today.

    Re: Gas Price Survey

Yesterday, I rode my Venture up I-395 to Antelope Lake, CA. The lowest gasoline price was near where I left in extreme NW Reno, $3.859 for 85 octane. As I went up north the price kept getting higher, but I entered California in the first mile going north. At JanesVille, CA (75 miles north of downtown Reno, on I-395) the price was $4.659 for 87 octane. This is about 12 miles South of SusanVille, CA, next to Honey Lake, which is now surprisingly dry.

I filled up my Venture there but for $4.759 for 89 octane because they were out of 87. I wanted to fill up there only because it's the last gas station before entering the middle of Nowheresville in the mountains where there are no gas stations for countless miles in any direction except for going back.

Later that night, the cheapest gasoline I could find coming back to SSF in my Saturn was $4.119 for 87 octane in Vellejo, CA.

BTW, my Saturn car gets better MPG on the freeway than my Venture motorcycle. The 1.2 L bike gets 38 MPG, almost always, when on any freeway. I often get 40 in my 1.9L Saturn (both are 5 speed manual trannys).

Well the price in Cental Oregon has finally dropped to $3.97 for the cheap stuff. My son tells me that in Portland it's at $3.69. We can only hope that if the jobs increase, that the price of gas does'nt. 8)

Are they still all full service there?

I can find it cheaper than that within 30 miles of San Francisco, but nowhere near here in South San Francisco. Maybe $4.12 or so now , if I look hard enough.

;D As about as full as you can get. To your hip pockets that is. And a little in your boots. :

Too bad I filled up the day before, when it was still $3.89 for premium. Still, it was my first under-$60 fillup in a long time.

Lowest is around 3.55 here in Orlando, FL.

I wish that it would stay stable, but by spring, it will probably be 6 bucks.

Crap, prices are back up here, about 12 cents or more. Hope it's just a holiday bump.
