A couple of years ago I saw a short film on a guy who built a scale model of a Ferrari Testarossa. Looked to be about 1:12 scale? At any rate, everything worked, including the V12 engine. It made an AMAZING sound.

Boy, that's almost as big as a Ford V-8/60 of years ago.

    Yeah, me too!

It'd be a lot of fun to put one of these together on yor desktop. I haven't had a chance yet to search around, but I'm guessing kits are available. Those pieces (blocks, heads, cranks, rods pistons - not to mention the little parts like valves and so on) were probably made in batches and not produced individually, from billets, etc. The cost would be just masssve.... I'll see what I can dig up...

One of the comments on the videos mentions $20,000
No idea if that's factual, but for custom-machined parts, I wouldn't be surprised.

I wonder what they use for sparkplugs?

Probably miniature (8mm) bike plugs or possibly Large Scale model aircraft/car gas plugs.
