    Nope the original Dodge Omni & Plymouth Horizon used a Europe Chrysler derived 4 cylinder motor (Europe Chrysler was sold to Peugeot), the latter Omni and Horizon used the popular Chrysler 2.2 liter.

    The Omni was not Japanese. Not even a little bit.

    Early Omni/Horizon used a VW/Audi sourced engine until they went to the domestic 2.2.
