Very well said. It's sad his current state, he should have retired after his successful 1984 tour. How he went from Crocodile Rock, Rocketman, Yellow Brick Road, Bennie and the Jets, etc. to the garbage he sings now, I'll never know. But he should have retired years ago.
Another one who should have retired about the same time was Paul McCartney, the junk he puts out now is so bad it's even unfit for "elevator" muzak. In fact his recent releases have been so bad he has recently in 2008 gone back to performing in concert in Beatles like persona (he even plays that old early Beatles bass guitar he played from 1963-1966, and he plays Beatles songs:
