Papa John's, Pizza Hut, and Dominos are all still around. Only Pizza Hut in my area seems to be delivery only now -- none of their restaurants are still open.

Shakey's was open when I was in elementary school. Godfather's when I was in high school. All gone now.

Chuck E. Cheese, OTOH, just won't seem to go away.

Yup! Know them all. There also was a Pizza Inn at one time. There was a Godfather's not far from the Univ of IL campus in Champaign-Urbana in the late 70s that was awesome. Then they all went downhill.

The Godfather's disappeared in our area too. So did the Little Caesers, the franchise company that owned them in my area went belly-up.

Most of the Pizza Huts are now delivery/pickup only. There are still a few of the old resturants but they are not full service. You order your meal and then they give you a number to put on the table, when your food is ready they drop it off at your table.

We have a few localized chains which are pretty good like Ledo Pizza: http://www.ledopizza.com/ - a delicious square thin crust pizza, Armands Pizza: http://www.armandspizza.com/ - a delicious deep dish (Chicago style) Pizza and a pretty good thin crust, and Vocelli Pizza (East Coast chain) which tastes just like Papa John's, etc.

This one is especially for you, here's Elliot from the DC radio station DC 101 talking about his experience at a local Chuck E Cheese, you'll get a kick out of it:

    Crikey!

I thank Elvis every day I don't have to deal with this kind of stuff. I wouldn't go near a Chuck E Cheese on a bet....
