    Nissan having problems, too

One of the local Nissan dealers is now offering $10,000 off any new Frontier, XTerra, Pathfinder, or Quest. Any configuration, any trim level.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, so I went and had a look at the Nissan USA website (www.nissanusa.com), and it turns out that all of the SUVs barely make it to 20mpg. The Frontier with the 4-cylinder and 2-wheel drive only gets 23mpg. It's because their vehicles share a 4 liter v6, and they just drink gas like crazy.

The Quest is the gas sipper of the bunch, with only a 3.5 liter V6 and getting 24mpg. But it's probably one of the least-popular minivans out there because of it's unusual styling.

Yep - I'm doing an article on this very subject!

The Frontier can be purchased with a 4-cylinder.

The Armada and Titan have V8- engines.

Yup. But even with the 4 cylinder, it only gets 24mpg highway.

Which is what my CR-V gets, with it's 8 year old 2.0 liter I-4 and part-time 4wd (the 4-cylinder Frontier is 2wd only)

I think only 2WD models, however. My older generation Frontier could still be had with the four - and 4WD.
