    Broody hen

Here is a picture of our (hopefully) mom to be. The chicks should be here in about 10 days - assuming our rooster wasn't shooting blanks!

What's your plan for the chicks?
Going to replace some of their elders? (who are destined for sunday dinner?)

We'll keep them - expand our flock. I have to be truthful: I can't kill the things or eat them. You get to know them - and then it's not so appealing to eat 'em! So they're our "outside pets"!

Sounds like my uncle when, a zillion years ago, had his mules go obsolete because he bought tractors. He couldn't part with the animals

The mom's name is Honey Mustard! I hope we don't get too many roosters.... I want 1 or 2 sons of Pretty Boy's, our current rooster, but he is plenty loud without a chorus of boys!
