I want to know how many of these gas savers keep their tires up to recommended pressure or a tad higher.
With the Volt, FCX, and the plug-in hybrid verson of the Prius, how will the consumer know what the true cost of fueling the car is?
Just posting a gas mileage figure on the sticker won't reflect this. The EPA test circuit is 6 miles long, and the Volt can do it without consuming any gas at all.
Perhaps two numbers: The consumption of the gas motor when it's running (per hour, not per mile, since the motor in the Volt will run at fixed RPMs), and the kilowatts needed to recharge the battery back to full after the test circuit run.

Probably more than when gas was cheap.
But not enough, certainly.

If they factor in EV's - all they have to do is give away a cheap one for every Camaro they sell. EPA 35 mpg problem solved!
