GM has let it slip that there will not be a convertible version of the Camaro (due early next year) until 2011 at the earliest.

The fact that GM is already trimming back is a clear sign of trouble for Camaro, which is scheduled to enter the market at just the moment when GM's sales (and car sales generally) are at historic lows and the market for sporty coupes has never been worse.

Meanwhile, Dodge has also put a convertible version of the Challenger on indefinite hold.
