    Thanks!

I regularly scan eBay (as well as Craigs and some VW sites I know, including www.thesamba.com). I'd like to find one within 100 miles of me (ideally, 50-75) because I won't buy one site unseen and have it shipped. I want to be able to inspect/drive it, etc.

It's always risky buying a car at a distance, but Things are notorious for structural rot. I don't give a hoot about the engine, clutch or transmission. All those things are easily - and cheaply - fixed.

But the body.... you've gotta be careful!

Just looked at this one. Why do people have to put Afro-ized wheels/tires on classic vehicles? Ditto the seats. Ugh.

But fixable. I like the color; definitely not OE but interesting...
