    1990 Geo Metro

    1990 Geo Metro

General Motors had done such damage to its reputation by the 1980s that it was deemed necessary to quit even trying to use an existing divisional brand name like Chevrolet to try and sell cars—especially small cars. Thus was born the supposedly “independent” Geo line and the slug-shaped Suzuki-built Metro. Offered as a coupe and sedan—with an “upscale” Lsi derivative optional—the Geo Metro (and the Geo name) lasted through the 1998 model year, after which GM once again felt safe enough to try selling its entry level cars exclusively under the Chevrolet banner.
