    Buy in December to get the best deal

    Car buying is truly seasonal. This chart from Google shows that in the last few months of a year car sales really take a plunge. Therefore... you have the most negotiating power with the dealership at that time.

    Yep; new model changeovers especially mean remaining stocks of "this year's" cars become more and more of a potential liability as we close in on the new calendar year. Many people want the latest/newest, not a car that is about to be not just last year's model but already a year old - even though it's still just as brand-new as the "new" 2010s.
