The remote stopped working on my Vovlo XC-90 2005.
So I bought a new battery (end of problem, or so I thought).
Takes approx 10 tries to open the door, while standing 2 feet from car.
Visited various Volvo forums - no luck.
After about a week it works as normal. All I can guess is that there is a big assed capacitor that takes a while to charge!
Or could it be the flaky way their rolling code technology works? The receiver has to get in sync the transmitter (remote) and then all is fine. It might have been hit and miss at first.
In case you didn't realize it, each time you use the remote, the code frequency changes. This way nobody can record the info and then open your car.
Modern garage door openers work the same way.
