I worked briefly as a motorcycle mechanic. The shop owners competed in enduros.
One of their friends, a really big kid they called 'Bear', was alleged to have carried his broken motorcycle out of the woods.
So I asked him about it.
He said the story had been exaggerated; he kicked it most of the way...

About two years ago, I went down a Trail Too Far.... should have turned back about 5 minutes before I tried to do just that. Too steep, plus loamy soil equals no traction. The back tire would just slide. I had to drag/pull/toss the bike back up this trail for a good 100 yards before I got to a place where there was enough traction to "walk" it out on its own power instead of mine.
I didn't need to hit the gym that day...
