    Nostalgia.

1967 seems not so far away. I was only a baby, but I can still remember that world because it lingered into the '70s and you could still see pieces of it even in the '80s.

    All gone now.

I wonder how many high school kids at the time could afford a new Camaro convertible? Its a great ad, certainly one of the best of its time, and better than anything they could make today. Shame Chevys new Camaro has none of the meaning of the old one.

Surprisngly - many could. Maybe not a Z28 or an SS, but the standard Camaro was well within the purchasing ability of a typical 20 year old back then. The cars themselves were cheaper by about 30 percent (adjusted for inflation), and peripheral costs such as insurance (optional in those days) and gas were also much less. In addition, skilled blue collar jobs and entry-level white collar jobs paid enough money to make buying such a car feasible.

    That is all gone today.

I like the 1965 Chevy commercial shown on Bonanza.
