    Minneapolis Parking Meter Maggots

When I moved to Minneapolis in 1976 it was a nice town. Howerver the ultra-liberals took over and have spent every dime they can get their hands on, by rasing property taxes over 8% a year, for the last 15 yrs! They spend the money on $50,000 water fountains and stuff like this:

...But the technology will be a two-way street; most of the new meters will use the city's wireless network, meaning some new advantages for meter monitors in their cat-and-mouse game with drivers

For example, some of the new downtown meters won't display how much time remains after a vehicle departs, making it harder for drivers to find a space in which to park free for a while.

Moreover, the new meters will be capable of snitching electronically to meter monitors when a meter expires. That also means that meter monitors using handheld wireless units yet to be selected can concentrate on areas with the greatest number of expired meters.

The biggest changes will come downtown, where the city will switch to one multi-space meter for each side of each block. That means walking to a relatively slim pillar and giving it a parking space number as well as payment, as some private parking lots require. A driver may obtain a receipt but doesn't need to display it. However, these units also won't show how much time remains for an individual space.

I just hope our 'Up to his eyes in debt' Prime Minister doesn't read your post, dB. Like all useless Socialist leaders he is always on the lookout for another way to raise a few more millions to give to our poor underprivileged immigrants, idle 'Don't Work - Won't Work' layabouts, single mothers and all his other 'Gibbit Me Dat' hangers on.

That sucks - but I think all major cities are becoming like that. I know DC is at least as bad, if not worse!

I could not tolerate living in or even near a big city anymore.

Redneck life - being able to run around naked if I want in my back yard and shoot high-powered guns drunk as hell at old fax machines... that's the ticket!

In this Great State?, we found out that a City CAN NOT install Parking Meters on a Highway as it goes through a town. One town tried it and it cost them dearly. So they pulled every one of them out, bought property in the down town area, and installed parking meters on them. So when all the freebie's on the streets are filled, guess where the overflow goes. In our last tax assessment, my Property value went down by 3G's, and our tax bill went up by $300.00. Go figure. We have a 3% limit on property tax increase. I just love this new math. They have it all worked out so they are just under the gun,and to make us feel good after being raped by a raspy file. Or was that a rusty file?

The property tax thing is one of the greatest outrages ever conceived. It means you never own anything. You pay an endless mortgage to the government.

If you never have even the possibility of owning your home/land free and clear, then you can never be truly free.
