I believe it! I also find it amazing this one man got the ball rolling to bring down our whole program.

    By any measure, he won.
    - He spent an estimated $500k to bring down the towers. We've spent untold billions in response.
    - He wanted a moral victory -- we have given it to him by changing our culture.

You really think it's billions we spent in response?

I was thinking trillions, but I have no concept of numbers that high!

We have changed our culture for sure. We have been robbed of our freedom.

Launching two open-ended wars - one against a country that had nothing to do with it (Iraq) and the other against a country of bedouins (Afghanistan) was insane. Unless the object was to pour the coal to the "defense" industry.

He could have "decided" that the loss of 3,400 Americans shouldn't mean the loss of liberty for 300 million Americans.

I will never forgive that squinty eyed, inbred, strutting-like-he-dropped-a-deuce-in-his pants little fuck - nor the Republican enablers who thumped their Bibles and humped their flags in great Amen choruses as their Maximum Leader turned this country into a corporatist police state.

I think it is trillions, if you add up both wars, the massive expansion of the federal government, etc.

But Republicans would say there's no price for "freedom" that's too high....
