I have no doubt we'll be around $3.50 before spring and maybe even higher than that.

$4 per gallon just about killed the car biz back in 2008.

Imagine the effect it'll have now.

Gas may get so expensive that the extra cost of Nissan Leaf may pay for itself.

In the meantime, I am going to hunt for something like a vintage Honda CRX-HF before prices go sky high. That would be a fun project car, and it got like 50 mpg at highway speeds.

I've heard and read that those CRXs are hard to find - and fairly expensive - because of their cult car status and high mileage.

A Geo Metro got 50 MPGs, too IIRC...
