    Management changes at Honda

Ito now has even more power, after pushing Tsuneo Tanai out. He will likely be President and CEO.

This does not bode well for Honda, as Ito is allegedly responsible for much of Honda's current stagnation. No GDI engines, no dual-clutch transmissions, no diesels...

I agree that Honda has lost the plot. Both Honda and Toyota seem a little too committed to Hybrids to innovate in any other areas anymore.

Honda can't seem to make up their mind. They were into hydrogen, now that's stopped. Then they were into diesels, but that development has been stopped. They currently make some hybrids, but that is only because everyone else is, and not because they really want to.

I was having a conversation the other day with a friend who is very into older Honda motorcycles. We both agreed that Honda's golden age of innovation is in the past. No more earth-shakers like the original Dream, the CB750, the CBX and even my GL - which is a better Moto Guzzi than Guzzi ever made!

The engineering in those days was both daring and brilliantly executed.
