Morgan three wheeler makes a comeback!

The Morgan three wheeler comeback is reality. I want one, I want one, I want one!

    Ken.

Morgan has revealed details of its new Threewheeler, which will cost around 30,000 when it goes on sale in May this year.

Morgan reckon that, already, over 300 people have put down their deposits on the new machine.

Blending old with new, nostalgia with up to date thinking, the new Morgan with its motoring heyday looks, couple with modern technology should attract many of the old school of motorists longing for the 'Good old days' of real motoring. The new car sports a a manual five-speed Mazda MX-5 box and a modern 1.9-litre twin-valve engine from Harley specialist builders S and S.

Styled on the original Morgans the car will carry two occupants with room for a couple of sandwiches and an overnight holdall. Driving the car, with its leather interior and aviation-style instruments will seem more like flying then driving. Not for this car, as far as I know, the uneccessary weight added by such modern fripperies as air-bags, side air-bags, ABS, TC and all the other so called safety equipment that just adds to cost, weight and complexity. This is a car for the dedicated driver who wants to know that he, and only he, is in charge.

With an engine turning out around 115 bhp the new Morgan will probably have a top speed in the region of 125 mph. With one's backside scant inches from the ground and the wind in one's face it will seem more like 225 mph to those not used to the joys of high speed motorcycling. Oh man, I really want one of these.

    Die dulci fruimini!

I would want one with something stronger than vestigial drum brakes.

Good thing then that a set of disk brakes are visible in the photo...
