    Sacrilege Redeemed

I just got around to seeing the movie True Grit. When I first heard that they were remaking the John Wayne classic, I thought, "Sacrilege!" How dare they mess with John Wayne, one of our (and mine!) most beloved icons of freedom and the American spirit?

I must say that the Coen brothers did a fine job. Bridges was great as Rooster Cogburn, and brought nuances of the Big Lebowski to his role. Some of the original scenes were cut, replaced, or slightly altered, but that did not diminish the theme of the movie.

If you are on the fence about seeing it, I recommend doing so. I do not think you will be disappointed.

I enjoyed that movie. It seemed so real I hardly thought I was in a movie theater. I bet that's how it was back in those times. Now I understand why people didn't live long like today's standards.
