    Hmm...it seems to me that he is sending mixed messages there.

    He seems to advocate (as his applause of McArthur overseeing the rebuilding of Japan) the military and government overseeing the new economy. Yet, he says that the path to prosperity is in a world where people have the freedom to create wealth. I do not think he gets the correlation that the generation of wealth and prosperity are inconsistent with military and government intervention in the free market.
