Alright, I just got my truck home, got all my shit in it and snapped some pictures of it.
Well a dream of mine is finally coming true today. I'll be the new owner of a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab SLT in about 2 hours. It has 159xxx miles and is in pretty good condition. I'll just be back to making a car payment for about a year and half or so. My payment will be cheaper though, only about $200 a month. I'll post pictures of it in a little bit. I always have liked the Dodge Dakota (this will be my 4th) and I've always wanted a quad cab, so when I seen this one in at reasonable price that I was able to close a deal on a jumped at it.
That's a good looking truck!

Thank you, I think it is too. The details of the sale is $6495 sailing price, trade in of $3750, plus title & tags for a total finance amount of $3088 and some change with payments of $196 and some change for 19 months. My parents are looking in to trading their van in, and is going to be test driving a 2005 Kia Sedona tomorrow. So hopefully they'll get something good too.
By the way my truck got the 4.7L V8 in it. I'm pretty familiar with the Dakota's being this is my 4th one. However I'm used to the old 3.9L V6......any body know how good the 4.7's are, any tips for the motor, etc. Also my last dakota was a '97 and had the 3.9L paired with an automatic transmission. The one is an automatic is well. Any idea's if its the same tranny or not, and are they prone for the same failure? The tranny never did go out in my last one, but when I got rid of it, it was beginning to act up (wouldn't shift right when cold, and had to warm up about 15 minutes before it would shift properly). I'm really hoping I don't have the same problem come winter.
Back in February, I had to make a road trip for work and bring back 3 drivers who were getting laid off from our fleet operations. The company gave me a Kia Sedona SUV. It was a pretty good car for around town but when we hit the road at 3 a.m. and I spent all that time on the road, I didn't like the car or the people in it. Me included. 700+ miles in 15 hours and I was flat beat.
Honk if you love Jesus.
Text if you want to meet him.
We'll we intend on taking it on our typical test drive, which normally lasts us 30 min or so and include both local city driving and highway driving. Only time will tell if they actually will buy it or not, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.
Well I myself and my parents liked the van, so they decided to go ahead and buy it. So now I can be jealous as they got the newest and lowest mileage vehicle. Seriously though I'm happy that they were able to get such a nice vehicle. Now hopefully we'll both be happy with our vehicles as we're stuck with them and the car payments to boot.
