    GPS mounting in TX, NM

We'll be visiting Texas in a couple of months, using our own TomTom to find our way around.

I know that in some states the use of windshield mounts is illegal - any such problem in Texas (or New Mexico, as we may pass through)?

I'll be bringing my dash mount ("beanbag") but that needs a fairly flat dash top; I think it will be OK in the car we're renting, a Mustang, but I'd like to have the windshield option just in case, if legal!

Texas has no problem with suction-cup mounted GPS units.

Ditto Chiph's comments - dash or windshield mount is ok in Texas.
