Covid-19 is bringing out the worst in people here. Bearing in
mind that our supermarkets all say they have adequate stocks
there should be no reason for 'panic' buying.
Today I went to my local Tesco for my usual weekly shop.
When I walked in it was incredible how many shelves
were stripped bare. No milk, no bread, no eggs, no
butter, no pasta, no potatoes and virtually no green
vegetables, hardly any red meat, no chicken - meat
or whole birds - no toilet tissues or toilet rolls.
I ended up picking up things that I thought I could
make meals out of, spending twice my usual weekly
bill and still not getting all the things we needed. At
one point I came across an elderly lady who had only
two things in her trolley, she was shopping for her
100 year old neighbour who was on a limited budget,
the stockpiling scumbags has cleared the shelves of
nearly everything the old guy needed.
My Tesco is now opening three days a week from
0800 to 1000 hrs for over 70s only. At least with
the shelves - hopefully - stocked there is a chance
I may get the remaining items on my list.
