You should add to that, that the rankings will change depending on locality. For example, here in So. AZ the most often stolen is a Ford F-150, and 7 of the other top 10 are pickups or SUVs.

    Good point!

I know that Acuras, Hondas and other "rice burners" are big targets in our old neighborhood up in DC...

A lot of those cars have the microchip in the key which is supposed to eliminate theft. Other than on a roll-back, how are they being stolen?

It's hard for me to see the appeal of Hondas except that the VTEC versions have good brochure numbers for peak power... maybe this appeals to simple criminal minds?
I confess I have been driving my 2.2 VTEC a lot lately and leaving my GM V8 unloved, scorned, simply because the Honda hurts less at the pump.
You can't give awa a V8 around here, either.

Anything canbe hacked, apparently. I guess these "anti-theft" features are more for psychological security (and thwarting joy riders) than anything else. If a pro wants your car, he's gonna get your car....

The "rice burners" are basically latter-day '55 Chevies - the younger crowd is all over them - because they're abundant and cheap and easy to work on/get parts for.

V-8s aren't, unfortunatly. They're for older dudes like us with nostalgia for them (and the cash to spend on them)!
