    Re: Engine back together!

    Looks nice!

I'm coming into your project late -- did you get the frame painted as well as rebuilding the engine?

I had to do some two-wheel maintenance this weekend too - I got a flat tire on the mountain bike, and suffered through the pain of walking it 3/4 of a mile back to the car and changing the tube out. If yours has tubeless tires, you don't know how lucky you are. :-) But then, I didn't have to suffer through balancing the vacuum on a pair of carburators...

I also bought a new set of pedals because I had difficulties clipping-in to the old ones. Such a small change, yet it's like having a new bike again!

    Re: Engine back together!

    Hi Chip,

I actually did the frame/suspension last year - including NOS rims with new spokes. The engine rebuild is actually more of a hot-rodding rebopp - big bore kit (upping the displacement from 903ccs to 1015 ccs) and compression (to 10.5:1) along with a
good porting for the head and new seals, etc.

Stock, the Z1900 engine wasrated at 82 hp. With the extra displacement and compression, I should be in the 100-110 hp level, which is a lot of power for an old bike like this...

And PS - It's four carbs to synch!

    Whoops, missed that.

Saw the Gene Simmons mug, but failed to count the number of cylinders.
